*Chapter 3: The Past

Rainbow groaned and put a hoof to her head,

Great I have a fever

suddenly the events from earlier washed over her.

The letter. Her dad.

She sat up, rubbed her eyes and looked around only to realise she was in the hospital. Due to Wonderbolts HQ being about 2 minutes away from the hospital, there really wasn't any need for them to have a infirmary within the compound. The Cloudsdale government (when building the compound a few years back) had connected the building through a tunnel in the clouds which lead to the hospital's main entrance, from there the third and fourth floor was strictly for Wonderbolts use only, meaning only the Wonderbolts and their families were allowed to be treated in the 3rd and 4th floor. They had their own ICU unit, A&E unit and Ward's. It wasn't different from the rest of the hospital, only that their was only Wonderbolts who could be seen walking around instead of random strangers and the public.

She looked to her left and saw Spitfire walking up and down with her head hung low. As soon she saw, from the corner of her eye, a movement she looked up and her eyes widened.

"Oh thank Celestia, Dash you scared all of us half to death, what happened!" She asked...or more or less demanded.

Rainbow Dash looked down, trying to fight tears, it took all of her to even mention her dad, or the part events of her childhood. She couldn't tell Spitfire.

"oh sorry I think I fainted from exhaustion," she nervously chuckled.

Spitfire eyed Dash suspiciously, not fully believing her. "Alright, something tells me your not telling me truth but whenever you need someone to talk to, you know where to find me." Spitfire smiled. "The nurses are gonna make sure everything is okay and take the day off, that's an order"

Rainbow Dash exited the hospital and made her way back to the compound. She was really reluctant and conscious of her surroundings. It's not like her fear was miles away from her or anything.

She decided to hang around with the Wonderbolts, everyone was on their lunch break and she didn't want to be alone at this moment.

"Oh, hey Dash, how you feeling?" Misty Fly asked.

"Better, thanks" Rainbow Dash answered.

She tried to shake away any past emotions resurfacing and just focus on today. Being a Wonderbolt and a Element of Harmony meant Rainbow Dash had security following her when she needed them, if she ever felt threatened she could just have bodyguards so her dad wouldn't come to her.

No, that won't work if my dad asks for alone time they will walk away because he's my DAD. Think Rainbow Dash think!

Rainbow Dash pondered to herself as she grabbed her belongings from the locker room and made her way onto the runway to meet Vapour Trail and Sky Stinger. It was almost new years and Rainbow wanted to spend the time with her friends in Ponyville. Sky and Vapour were on their way to Vanhoover so Dash decided to tag along half way for the flight as Ponyville was in the same direction.

"OUCH!" Two female voices exclaimed.

Rainbow Dash bumped into vapour.

"Sorry Vapour I was deep in thought,"

"Yeah I could tell, are you alright?" She asked

"Yeah of course, I've just had a long day." Rainbow Dash reassured her.

The trio flew off into the horizon.

Rainbow Dash landed on the stone pathway leading up to the entrance of the castle. Wasn't really hard to miss, a small town with small houses and up north you see a HUGE castle just stood there dominating the whole village.

That was dramatic.

But the description wasn't exactly wrong.

Rainbow Dash approached the pathways and walked towards the Twilght's-flipping-you-off (🖕) castle. She heard rustling in the bushes and stopped to look around.

Probably an animal

She thought.

Rainbow Dash continued on her small trek towards the friendship castle. She knocked on the big wooden doors, a few seconds later Spike appeared behind the huge doors and greeted Dash with a smile, which she happily returned.

"hey Spike, Twilight home?" She asked

"Hi Dash, she is. She's in the library, come on in" she motioned for her to enter.

Rainbow Dash smiled and rolled her eyes,

Ofcourse she's in the library, the egghead.
