Imagine: Sam leaves for college.

Age: 16

Sam is twenty and Dean is twenty-four.

"Is there really no way I can convince you to stay?" I asked Sam as I, Dean, and Dad followed him outside to where his car was waiting. He threw his bag into the trunk, turning back to me with a sad smile.

     "Afraid not."

"Not even the eyes?" I asked, and he chuckled, ruffling my hair.

"Look at em' too long and they might, but no. I can't hunt anymore. I'm just going to college." Sam tried to reassure me, but I wanted nothing to do with it.

"Doesn't matter. You're leaving me." I said. He gave a short sigh through his nose, his smile dropping a little.

"And I'll miss you," He said, nodding a little, "But I'll see you again someday."

"When?" I challenged lightly, "After you've graduated and you've forgotten about what hunting ever even was? Forgotten about me and Dean? Or Dad? What happens when you find a girl, settle down behind a white picket fence with a beer and a book? Where does that leave us?"

Dean put his hand on my shoulder behind me as tears brimmed at my eyes, but I did not cry.

"You'll be together." The only response I got. I scoffed, looking down at the floor and trying to choke back the lump in my throat.

"Yeah," I whispered, not really intending to be heard, "But we won't have you."

"Do I at least get a hug?" Sam asked, and I gave a sniff, stepping into his arms and clinging to his neck, my face buried in the front of his shirt.

"I love you." I breathed quietly, gripping a fistful of his shirt emotionally.

"I love you, too, kiddo." He let go of me and I smiled, crossing my arms over my body closely, my shoulders scrunching together.

"Go ace those tests, get that degree." I said. Sam smiled, giving a quick hug to Dad and a longer one to Dean before stepping into his car and cranking it up, waving as he pulled away from the curb and revved off down the road.

"We'll see him again, Y/n." John said, trying to comfort his disheartened daughter. I simply huffed out a sarcastic laugh.

"Yeah, sure," I turned around to go inside and Dean followed, "We'll see him when we're both dead."

------------Two Years Later-------------

"Are you sure you want to do this? There's no way of knowing he'll even come with us." I said wearily, looking up at the apartment building looming in the dark as I stepped out of the Impala.

"We have to try." Dean's response was short, and I knew better than to argue.

I followed a step behind him as the two of us crept throughout the building until we found Sam's apartment.

Dean stepped aside and allowed me to pick the lock, the door creaking open as I slunk inside.

From what I could see in the darkness of the apartment, it was nice, and quaint, but that wasn't why I were there.
