Imagine: After the events in the first chapter War, Sam and Dean try their best to become better brothers to you.
Age: 15
Everyone fights a war. Everyone raves down upon their own mind and tears it apart, leaving nothing but broken hearts and ruined dreams. Everyone allows for hurricanes in their hearts and earthquakes in their heads.
They are their own killers.
They plant the seeds of destruction in their brains and they water them with tears and give them the light of hope, only to have that light extinguished by the very thing it helped to grow.
Not many people win their war, for how can you when your enemy is yourself?
But you won.
What convinced you to return to your brothers, you'd never really know, but after two months of living with Gabriel, you found yourself missing them.
You expected them to forget you. You expected them to dedicate their lives to each other and never give you a second thought.
But they missed you. They called you and they put every hunter they knew on alert for the smallest glimpse for your face. They sat alone in their rooms and cried and they blamed themselves and they told each other that if they ever saw you again, everything would change.
For they did love you.
They always had.
They just didn't know how to show it.
Living with Gabriel had grown tiresome. He never let you go anywhere, and all he talked about was how much he wanted to kill your brothers.
And so one day you decided to go home.
"Gabe? Can I talk to you?" You entered the living room where Gabriel sat on the couch, smacking on a chocolate and watching TV. He turned to you with a big smile.
"What's up, buttercup?" He said cheerfully, popping another candy in his mouth.
You took a deep breath, wiping your sweaty palms on your jeans repeatedly. He seemed to notice your discomfort, for he put down the bowl of candies, his eyes growing serious.
"Is everything okay? Did Sam and Dean call you again?" He asked, scooting forward in the seat and putting his elbows on his knees.
"Well, no, but they are what I want to talk about." You said, sitting down in front of him on the ottoman.
"What did they do?" He said angrily.
"Nothing, I-" You hesitated, before shaking your head slightly and sucking in a breath, "I want to go home."
Gabriel sat frozen a moment, his face contorting as he took in the information, before he sat up straighter in the seat.
"Why the hell would you want to go back?" He said quietly, but the vehemence in his tone shown through his attempt to stay calm, "They caused you to attempt suicide."
"I know," You admitted, nodding, "I know. I have no reason to go back, but something in me," You gestured to your chest vaguely, your vocabulary leaving you, "Something in me, needs them."
"They treated you like shit!" Gabriel snapped then, eyebrows stitched together. Tears formed in your eyes, slowly.
"They're my family." You whispered.
