Chapter Ten

"I don't understand what that gigolo is up to-"

"Whoa, hold it right there sweetheart." Matamang agap sakanya ni Atticus. "Stop calling him names."

"Whatever!"

"Travis isn't a gigolo, Gift. I doubt if there's an instance where he accepted money in exchange of sex-"

"I don't care if he's paid or not, still a gigolo in my eyes. A young man hitting a woman sixteen years his senior! Oh what a cougar!" Pairap niyang putol sa sinasabi nito. "Still flagrant."

Naiiling na nag-taas ito ng dalawang kamay na tila ba sumusuko na ito sa kung anumang argumentong namamagitan sakanila.

"Anyhow, you sure you want me to cancel the flight that I booked? How about your life in New York?" Pag-iiba nito ng usapan. "Leave it freezing?"

"Let it melt for all I care." Balewala niyang sabi. "I need more time for the houses that I'm planning to build, wala pa akong nahahanap na lupa. Maybe you know a place na babagay sa disenyo ng bahay. Anywhere in the country."

"You're pushing through, huh?" Umangat ang sulok ng labi nito. "Calleja Holdings are good yes, having Lance as an Engineer I might say it's good. But I think Cavallero Industries is better. They're far more competent. Though the leading in the business will always be the Yniguez Empire, I will still suggest you to choose the Cavalleros for a better deal-"

"Nangiinis ka ba?!" Iritableng baling niya dito.

"Chill..." Humalakhak ito. "I'm stating a fact. It's far more convenient to deal business with them, setting aside your past with Travis-"

"Gigolo." She corrected.

He just shook his head and continued. "The Cavallero Industries holds the best cements in the world, there's the Cavallero Cement and Construction. Mismong sakanila kumukuha ng semento ang LC Holdings at Yniguez Empire. And mind you, Travis is the most talked Engineer of the moment since he topped the board exam years back."

"I don't fucking care! I'll take the most dullard Engineer in the business over him!"

"You hate him that much, huh?" Ngumisi ito atsaka humalukipkip.

"Hate is an understatement."

Gaya ng kaniyang plano, kinuha niya si Lance bilang engineer ng anim na bahay na kaniyang balak ipatayo. Hindi niya naman minamadali ang lahat tutal wala pa naman siyang pwesto na napipili kung saan itatayo ang mga iyon. Lance offered him help in finding the land and she's much more thankful for it. Sa nature ng trabaho nito'y nasisiguro niyang hindi na ito mahihirapan na humanap ng lupa para sakanya.

Decreasing her speed, she rolled down the window of her car and let herself be greeted by the morning air. A beautiful camhanaich is there to be witnessed.

Within the past years, she discovered another habit forming of her and it's to watch how the sun rises and sets.

Well the sun of course doesn't care if we watch it or not. It will keep on being beautiful, even if no one bothers to look at it.

For her, it was sunset that taught her that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments and it was sunrise that showed her that all it takes is patience to experience it all over again.

It's another way of saying not to give up, some things takes time.

Muli niyang isinara ang bintana ng sasakyan at ibinalik ang atensyon sa pag-mamaneho. Hindi pa sumisikat ang araw nang umalis siya sa unit ni Atticus para umuwi sa mansyon ng kaniyang ama, may ilang mga gamit siya na kailangan niyang kuhanin.
