The creatures rose over the rocks of the ridge in a pack, their skin was colored a deep red, and their eyes seemed to glow with a golden hue. From the sharp angles of their faces protruded odd, bone like tendrils that gave them a very intimidating appearance. The Sith.

They weren't Force Sensitive, as they all held blasters in their clawed hands. They were the ancient species Sith, and Avatra thought for a second that they were wiped out years ago.

The creatures began shouting, before firing their blasters at the group. The Stormtroopers surrounding them immediately began firing back, a few of them already knocked to the ground with a sickening thump. Avatra panicked, her emerald orbs growing wide as she quickly dropped her staff and reached for the blaster on her hip. Kylo had drawn his lightsaber already, the crackling and hissing of the weapon almost as loud as the blasts that zoomed past her.

"Take cover, Avatra!" He shouted, not even looking at her as he easily deflected the oncoming fire. She glanced at him, before hastily scrambling to a large boulder nearby. Her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest, her hands shaking as she grasped the blaster in her hand tightly. Images of Jakku flashed before her eyes, and she couldn't control her breathing.

Weak. She was weak.

She hated the feeling that crept through her, the feeling of uselessness. Gritting her teeth together, she inhaled deeply, poking her head around the corner of the boulder to see that a few of the Sith had fallen, leaving around six more. They were quickly advancing on the remaining troopers, as well as Kylo.

"You can do this." She breathed to herself, before drawing her weapon around the corner and shooting. The blast managed to hit one of the Sith, bringing him down to the ground. As they fell, more of them seemed to creep up from behind the ridge, their eyes glowing deadly. Avatra was quick to shoot again, missing a couple times before hitting another. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Kylo swinging his saber around, easily taking down the creatures that got too close.

He moved with languid motions, his actions smooth as he rolled the saber around in his hand with expert fingers. As he brought down another creature, a sudden blast came out of his sight and managed to hit him in the shoulder. He grunted in pain, momentarily staggered. Avatra's eyes widened in fear as she saw the remaining Sith advance on him.

"Kylo!" She gasped, instinctively reaching a hand out.

The power that surged through her being reminded her of that day in training, when she managed to push Kylo clear across the room. But this time, she pushed 10 men away from her Master, like she set off an invisible explosion right in front of them. They didn't slide across the sand, they flew threw the air, giving Kylo enough time to regain his stance. She didn't miss his quick glance toward her, or the slight nod he gave, before turning his attention back to the battle.

She smiled broadly, before furrowing her brows in concentration, aiming her blaster toward the remaining few. She kept her distance, not wanting to push her luck, but she felt more confident in her shots, more power in her fingertips than she had ever felt.

They were eventually pegged off one by one, either by Avatra's shots, or Kylo's skillful hand.

The dust from the battle cleared after a moments time, and she felt it was safe enough to stand from her cover behind the boulder

The dust from the battle cleared after a moments time, and she felt it was safe enough to stand from her cover behind the boulder. The valley was scattered with bodies, be it Sith or Trooper. It was just the two of them left now, their small convey laying dead in the sand. She looked over the bodies, a feeling of sorrow passing through her, before she heard Kylo grunt in pain.

"Are you okay?" He asked, approaching her with a hand on his shoulder. She knit her brows, quickly closing the distance between them to gently lay a hand on his arm.

"You've been hit." She stated, concern clear on her delicate features. She glanced at the hole in his shoulder, to his masked face.

"I will be fine, Avatra. We have a mission to complete." He breathed out, before inhaling deeply. Standing straight, he looked out over the valley, his eyes scanning the multiple of doors that lined the ridge. She frowned at this,

"We should go back to the ship, get the first aid kit, and then return." She prompted him, but he didn't budge, instead his eyes were set on one of the large entrance ways.

"No. We are almost there. It's through that gate." He simply replied, motioning toward the enormous door with a nod of his head. She let out a deep sigh, relenting.

"You're being stubborn." She mumbled, walking back to her boulder to pick up the staff she had dropped earlier. Kylo scoffed at this, the sound almost off putting with the vocoder in his mask.

"I'm being stubborn? Have you forgotten about yourself these past months?" He remarked, before rolling his shoulder with a hiss. She quickly glanced at him, confusion in her eyes.

"Why are you moving it? That will make it far worse!" She gasped. Kylo shook his head,

"The pain. I need it." He simply replied, before moving to latch his saber onto his waist. She opened her mouth to say something, but slowly looked away from him. He was using it to his advantage, like he had been training her to do during their time together. She couldn't imagine herself drawing power from a wound like that, and it brought respect forward for the man. He was much stronger than she imagined.

"Follow me." He ordered, starting up his fast paced walk toward the gate in sight. She quickly fell in line with him, keeping her eyes forward to avoid seeing the bodies scattered through the valley.

"This tomb was originally deemed lost. Most of these tombs have already been raided or have caved in. This one...Hasn't been touched." Kylo breathed out as he ascended to the last step of what seemed like a never ending staircase. Avatra was practically heaving when she reached the top, using her staff to push herself the last few steps. She felt incredibly inferior to Kylo at the moment, who trekked up the stairs without a falter in his step, and a blaster would to the shoulder.

"I think I can tell why." Avatra breathed out, glancing toward the massive door. There was a dark force here that lingered in the air like smoke. She could feel the power seemingly radiate from the entrance, washing over her in waves of corruption. It made her stomach flip anxiously, and her knees shake. It was almost overwhelming.

"You feel it, too. This place holds tremendous power." Kylo commented, his eyes scanning over the door before turning to look at her, staring her down for a moment. She felt like he was sizing her up, and it took her a moment to realize that that's exactly what he was doing.

"Let's go."

She let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding, before following him. If Kylo believed she was strong enough, then she would just have to trust his judgement.

Yet, the feeling of uncertainty still clawed at the back of her mind.
