Hogwarts was bad enough; all the strict rules like no maiming, no using magic outside of school, blah, blah, blah. It was honestly only a matter of time before I got myself kicked out. The thing that was worse about muggle school was if we used magic, it wouldn't be expulsion. No, the whole wizarding world would be after us.

My younger sister Tania and I had just been having some fun. It's not like we meant to throw some celebrity up into the air. We were aiming for the bowl of confetti, so they really shouldn't have blamed us because nobody taught us better aim.

After that, our family was shamed, though I can't see why, and mom and dad decided to move to the States. They were still trying to negotiate us into Ilvermony, so for now we were stuck at muggle school. At least we got to keep our wands.

"Excuse me," I mused as a couple of brats cut me off. I had been about to walk into the office, but by all means, they must be more important. Bah, nobody here was more important than a couple of pure-blood wizards.

"Oh, sorry," said a girl with red hair and she gestured for us to go first. At least she admitted she was being self absorbed.

"Woah, I love the accent," the boy with her added. "Are you guys, like, from England?"

"Yeah," Tania confirmed, while fixing her nail beds. When she looked up, she gave each of them the elevator treatment. They deserved that much.

There was a pause as the four of us evaluated each other and then I went to take a step towards the door. At the same time, the boy reached over to grab the handle, and I ran into it.

"Um," I grunted. "Kind of hard for me to get in when you're in the way." The boy blushed and moved his arm... without opening the door.

"Gosh, thanks," I muttered beneath my breath.

I swung it open and stepped through. I expected Tania to come in behind me, but the red-head must have pushed her way in front because I heard a groan of disapproval from my sister. I looked behind me and sure enough, there was the ginger. I gave her a short glare and she looked away quickly. Coward.

"More new students?" Asked a hag behind a desk.

Tania rolled her eyes. "Obviously. We're the transfers from Europe, in case you couldn't tell. Well, Jeremy and I are. I dunno about those two."

"Last name?"

"Clangon," I supplied. A few moments later, she was handing us a couple pieces of paper. Could have at least had the decency to avoid crinkles, I thought.

"And you two?" She tilted her head towards the other two as if dismissing us, which I was not impressed with.

They gave their names to the lady. I wasn't paying attention, but it was something like Clary Fairy and Sam Lovegood. They also said that there was a third person who wasn't going to show up for our meeting. Jack something or other?

The secretary didn't like that very much, but we were saved from her exasperating dialogue when a guy who must have been the principal walked in.

"Hello, kids. Welcome to Goode. We hope you have a good time here." He went on to explain all the extracurricular activities they offered, and then droned on about the support staff. Finally he ended with, "I'll call down a couple of kids to show the eight of you to your classes."

I didn't even notice the other people sitting in the office. They were just muggles after all, what did you expect?

Five minutes later, a boy with raven black hair and sea green eyes came grinning into the room. His hair was swept over like he'd just taken a walk through a wind tunnel. About a minute later, a slightly younger boy with brown hair and eyes came in and stood a few feet behind him.

"Percy will be showing the twelfth graders to your lockers and classes. Feel free to miss first period if you need to get yourself oriented, but make sure you show up for second. That's Connor, Jeremy, Clary, Marina and Simon. Piper, Tania and Peter, you can go with Riley."

I guess Percy was the first boy. I wondered why the secretary was giving him a death glare, not that he was noticing.

"Okay, let's go, guys," Percy said, obviously not knowing who to look at. Then he added "Connor!" in a tone that was somewhere between amused and warning. I was a bit curious about what he'd been doing, but whatever it was, he'd covered it up already.

If he was half as important as me, I might have respected him, but the sooner I got out of here, the better. And the sooner Tania got away from the muggle boys, the brighter the world would be. We were a pure-blooded family for a reason.

"All right, let's go to the lockers first. Later, Piper." He gave a quick wave and a smile to the girl standing near Tania, and then walked out the door, expecting us to follow. We did.

"So, the five of you have lockers in the same hallway, which happens to also be near my locker." He shot a don't' even think about it glance at the one named Connor before he continued. "Your combos and locker numbers should be at the top of your schedule."

I looked down at the crinkled paper and found the numbers he was talking about. I'd never used a locker though, and until I figured it out- "alohamora," I whispered, brandishing my wand beneath a jacket. The lock on my locker popped open.

The two rude muggles from earlier had lockers next to each other - Clary and Sam, was it? - and were putting gym bags in. Connor was subtly slipping something into the boy's locker while he was talking to the red-head. Curious. And the brown haired girl was standing awkwardly to the side.

A/N Not that anybody is actually reading this, but yes, they have met, and I've decided to post another chapter pretty much... right now. See y'all soon:)
