Chapter 3: The Returning of the Take Over Mage

1:34PM (Next Day)

Lucy couldn't stop thinking about that moment. The moment with her and Natsu. You could say she's always seen Natsu in that way, but never expressed it. She blushed at the thought, but was soon noticed by a white-haired mage.

"Lucy, are you blushing?" It was Mirajane. Lucy flinched slightly and laughed nervously.

"E-Eh? N-No!" She rambled quickly and smiled. But Mira didn't seem to be satisfied.

"Yeah, yeah. So who'd ya meet? Was it a boy? Oh my gosh! Lucy met a boy! Or was it someone in the guild?" She squealed and leaned towards Lucy's face. Lucy face-palmed and waved her off.

"It was nothing! And plus, I ain't telling you!" Lucy sneered, crossing her arms across her chest. Mira pouted and turned to serve someone else. Lucy dismissed herself to Mira and walked towards the door to be smacked in the face by the door. Natsu came out with a wide grin on his face, but he was accompanied with white-haired girl. His arm was wrapped carefully around the girl's shoulder. And it soon occurred in Lucy's heart.

"It's Lisanna! She's alive!"

Okay, before we go any further, I'm going to do a Lucy's P.O.V because it's more easier to describe how she feels. Especially in this current situation. Thanks xx

[LUCY'S P.O.V]

After the whole, me getting smacked in the face with a door, me getting totally heart broken and me getting a bruise on my nose, this girl Lisanna, Mira's sister supposedly died a few years ago and now she's back. It was far too painful to see her in Natsu's arms. I mean... It's like he totally forgot about me. Everyone else had seemed to just ignore me, excluding the people I was friends with like Erza and Levy.

No, that's entirely insensitive of me. She's an old friend of theirs, and it must be great to have her back after so long. But... It's been about 2 weeks and I have to admit, almost everyone in the guild haven't given me so much as a glance. Even Natsu... As much as it hurts, I wave it off.

I walked into the guild, looking for some kind of recognition from Natsu, when I meet a pair of wild eyes.

"Luce! You're back. There's somethin' I wanna talk about." He said with a grin, and a very smirky Lisanna next to him.

"Sure, Natsu." I murmured. "What's on your mind?"

"I want you to drop out of Team Natsu."

At this moment, my heart was in my throat. Tears stung my eyes, but I forced myself to keep my composure.

"W-Why?" I whispered under my breath, but I knew Natsu could hear. Then Lisanna spoke.

"Isn't it obvious? With you off the team, Natsu and I can spend more time together. It only makes sense since we're finally back together." Lisanna interjected, a cold smile on her face.

 If my heart broke even more, it would stop beating. There was a lump in my throat. I could barely tame the tears that threatened to fall. 

"So I was just an empty spot for Lisanna all this time..." I muttered, fear and anger coursing through me all at the same time. 

"If that's what you want, Natsu." I snap my head up, but avoid both their stares. It was all I could manage to say. All that I was willing to say. I turned on my heel and headed for the doors.

[GRAY'S P.O.V]

I noticed Lucy running out the door, crying. My eyes flickered towards Natsu, something told me he did something to upset her.

"You idiot. What'd you do now?" I saw him holding Lisanna's hand, staring lovingly into her eyes with that dumb smile of his. Then it hit me. It was more than obvious.

Not bothering to let him answer, I strode out of the guild, hot on Lucy's trail when I arrived at her place.

I slowly let myself in and found Lucy crawled up in a ball on her bed.

"Lucy?" I broke the silence, standing at the door when she scrambled up from her position on the bed. She wiped her eyes quickly.

"G-Gray... Wh-What are you doing here? Is there something I can help you with?" She said quickly, avoiding my eyes.

"No, I..." What was I doing here? "I know something's wrong. You're crying."

"Wha-What? No! I was... I-I...." Lucy sits back onto the bed, defeated, tears freely streaming down her rosy cheeks. "It-It's Natsu, Gray... He... He didn't bat an eye when he told me to drop out of the team. It was so... cold. Not like how he normally is." 

I swiftly found my way next to her, the bed sinking as I sat down. Admittedly, I sat a bit close for comfort to her, but I hesitantly left a hand on her shoulder. Y'know... As support or whatever.

"Lucy..." I said in a soft tone. "It's okay--"

"I'm not sure if it is anymore." She said softly, before quickly crying into my shoulder, her tears dampening my shirt. 

I put a hand on her head, letting her whimper softly against me.

[LUCY'S P.O.V]

It felt good to have him here. I don't know why, but I found myself resting my head on his shoulder at some point. I felt him twitch under my touch but soften soon after. I looked up to see his cheeks painted a fleshy pink colour.

"Sorry... I-I just... It is okay if you stay for a bit?" I blurted out, cursing my stuttering in my head. Something about his presence was comforting... and I needed that more than ever. Why? I'm not quite sure. I could say that about his presence here, in my house. We barely ever spoke. We weren't close. Of course, we went on missions together, but never as a pair. 

"S-Sure, Lucy..." He smiled nervously and pushed back his hair. Gray seemed more... Flustered. It was kind of cute. I've never really seen him like this.

I sat up, realising now that I had been almost cradling his arm for a while now. I swiped my damp cheek, managing a smile.

[GRAY'S P.O.V]

We didn't do much. We just sat on her bed, talking, sitting in silence. I think me being there helped her a bit. I didn't know how to really help her, but she didn't seem to want advise or anything. She just wanted company.

I left a while after, she squeezed my hand before I headed home, thanking me for being there with her. 

The walk home was silent, I was deep in thought. I lifted a hand to rub my face,  feeling that my skin was warm to the touch. 

Must be coming down with something.
