Chapter 19: The War Has Ended [End]

[GRAY'S P.O.V]

Today, everyone was getting things ready for the dance party. The whole thing was being held, here, at the Town Hall. It was nice of the mayor to let us use it.

"More to the right! No, to the right!" I heard Mirajane calling out to the others. She was obviously in charge of the organisation. But Reedus called me in to help him make an ice sculpture.

"So, where did you want the sculpture, Reedus?" I asked, as he got his tools ready.

"Just over there, where the tape is." Said Reedus. I nodded and walked over there. He told me to not make it too big, but still big enough for the main table in the centre.

I positioned myself, chanting my Ice Make words. I stuck out my palms and out came a neat block of ice. Reedus thanked me and I left for Lucy's place.

Last night, she came over to my place instead of hanging out with the girls.

That lingered in my head for a while. I thought about what Mira told me. Should I do it?

I past the market place on the way to her house. I came across a stall that was selling rings. I stopped and scanned them. If I were to do this, I'd have to get a ring for her.

I noticed a sparkling pink diamond ring. The pink color swirled around the gold. It had a hint of blue too.

I saw the price. And I knew it was too expensive. I couldn't afford it. So I waved off the idea.

Once I got to Lucy's, I knocked on the door three times. She answered the door almost instantly.

"Good morning, Gray!" She smiled. I smiled back and she let me in. I sat on the bed, sighing deeply.

"What's wrong?" She asked, kneeling at my feet, resting her chin on my knees.

"Nothing. Just thinking. So, are you excited about the dance party?" I changed the topic. She nodded and stood up, sitting on my lap.

"Yep... I hear it's gonna be awesome. Mira's in charge of stuff, right? Plus, with our outfits, we'll be the cutest couple there."

"We're already the cutest couple, Luce." I smirked. She blushed a bright red, making me smirk even larger. I cupped her face. She flushed even more.

"I love you, Luce." I said. She just rolled her eyes with a playful smile.

"You tell me that everyday." She giggled. I shrugged and leaned in, kissing her gently on the lips.

"I can't help it. I've always been a very honest guy." I teased. She giggled harder and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Well then," Lucy smiled, also wrapping her legs around my waist. "I love you too, stripper."

In one hour, the Dance Party is starting. Everyone was so excited. Except Natsu. I couldn't just not help him out. He was sitting at the bar table, sighing.

"Hey, Natsu. What's wrong?" I asked, sitting next to him. He sighed again and swirled his drink around.

"I don't have anyone to bring to the dance party."
