Chapter 10: In Harm's Way

[LUCY'S P.O.V]

We're going back to the guild today. As much as I hated what had happened here, the glimpses of happy moments with Gray and my friends weren't so bad. I stood in the lobby, bags with my used clothes surrounding my feet. I spotted Gray from across the lobby and waved.

"Luce! Let's ride back together!" I heard Gray call out. But before I could say anything, I was interrupted by Lisanna, moving into my view.

"Lucy." She giggled, and tugged on my sleeve. 

"Uh, yeah, Lisanna?"

"Could we talk?" She asked. I was hesitant, but I had no real choice in the matter as she dragged me to a part of the hotel I hadn't seen. 

"Um sure."

She continued to force me into a pair of double doors, pushing them open to reveal a large hall. I supposed that it would be used for functions like parties with the tables covered with white sheets. I spun on my heel, noticing her blocking the exit.

"Okay, so what do you--"

"Oh, shut it, you cow." She growled, a sound that surprised me when I found that she was standing close to me.

"E-Excuse me?" I barked back. 

"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." She said, brushing her bangs out of her piercing eyes with her nails.

"What the hell are you talking about,"

"The hard way it is." She smirked, I watched her as her Take Over magic came into effect, using a partial Take Over: Cat.

"W-What are you doing..?" I murmured, attempting to back away as the claws from her paws grew sharp. 

"What the hell do you think, dumbass? I'm going to teach you a lesson!" She snickered. "I figured there's no way to keep Natsu away from you without getting rid of you!"

Nothing but a whimper escaped me, I took another step back, my mind reeling.

"C'mon. Take out your weak little keys, show me what you're made of!" She smirked again.

"Open! Gate of the Giant Crab!" I yelled. "Cancer!"

She laughed at my friend, as he came from the Celestrial World.

"Leave this to me, ebi!" Cancer said, and lunged at Lisanna.

Lisanna dodged easily. She sliced threw his body, causing him to return. I gritted my teeth, irritated. I had to finish this.

"You whiny little..." I growled, I went to call out another spirit. Before I grab another key, the white-haired mage had a hold on my arms, digging her claws into my pink flesh.

I cried as the pain of the sharp talons seeping deeper into my arms, sending a blast of heat through my body. I lunged forward, throwing my body weight onto her in an attempt to throw her off, but I winded up being pinned down by my bloody arms.

I shrieked as she moved from my arms to my stomach. I could feel her claws sinking into my flesh, my skin on fire.

"See, Luce? This is why Natsu booted you off the team! You're weak! Haha! You're weak and pathetic." She said, her eyes wild with rage.

My vision was blurring and my mind was drifting off. I can't let myself faint, not now. 

I suppressed a scream and I managed to push hard enough to fling her off of me.
