Chapter 5: Natsu's Outbreak

[LUCY'S P.O.V]

I woke up with a start, nearly falling off my bed. I checked my small clock and quickly jumped up. Gray was meeting me here in one hour! I cursed myself for sleeping in.

I raced towards the bathroom and didn't bother closing the door behind me. I undressed and hopped into the shower, wetting my hair and body. Once I was clean enough and jumped out of the shower, already starting to do my hair. I went to my wardrobe and picked out a blue sundress and flats. I threw in a blue bow around my pony tail for kicks. I was mildly satisfied, drowning myself in a honey and vanilla scented perfume.

Admittedly, I am incredibly nervous.

It was around 12:55pm and Gray should be here soon. We were going to go to a cafe for a date. I don't even remember the last time I went on a date with someone. Or at least it being confirmed a date. I grabbed my blue handbag and checked myself out in the mirror one more time. I stared at my figure. Why the heck am I so nervous about this 'date'?

"Luce? You home?" I heard a voice say, at first, I thought it might be Natsu, but then I saw a handsome face peek through the door.

I smiled brightly at him and ran up to hug him. He smirked at me, and hugged me back.

"You look... Amazing." He said suddenly, I felt my something heat up like wild fire across my face. No one's ever said something like that to me.

"T-Thanks... You look good too." I replied. He wore a checkered shirt that was blue and grey, a pair a black jeans and sandles. I couldn't help but laugh at his sandles.

"What? Is it my shoes? They're awesome, mind you." He laughed. I followed him outside and we walked through the town to the cafe.

I noticed a boy with wild pink hair and a white-haired girl, holding hands. My heart suddenly picked up speed, and I pulled Gray into a side alleyway. He was about to growl before I put my hand around his mouth. I didn't want Natsu to see me, and I didn't want to see Natsu.

Gray noticed what I was doing and sighed, taking my hand in his.

"You don't need to worry about Natsu and Lisanna, Luce." He said softly, giving my hand a light squeeze which made my insides melt.

"R-Right, but... What if Natsu-"

Then, I could feel Gray's cool lips on mine. I gripped his shoulders and he pulled me in for more.  It was painfully obvious I was completely red, but he looked down at me with warm eyes.

"You're beautiful." He whispered in my ear, and I bit my lip hard. Damn, he needs to stop serving me these looks. 

We ducked out of the alleyway once I was certain they had passed, still holding Gray's hand.

"Lucy?" I heard a voice say. But it wasn't Gray. I turned to see Natsu, but Lisanna wasn't there. I could see the slight fire in his eyes when he saw me and Gray.

"Natsu... W-What do you want?" I murmured, clenching my fist.

"Why is Gray here?" He asked sternly and frowned hard. Gray took a step towards him.

"What's it to you?" He barked. I could hear Natsu growl under his breath, and stare directly at me.

"Why him?!" He yelled. "Luce, don't tell me you're dating him!" I could feel tears well up in my eyes, and I felt them run down my cheeks. I couldn't find the strength to answer him. I felt like I was frozen with fear.

"Why don't you run back to your girlfriend, flame brain." Gray scoffed, clearing angry by his tone. He was more worked up than I was. But all I could do was stand there, stiff.

Natsu glared at me and yelled; "I'm not surprised you're with a guy  like that, Lucy! Lisanna said you were the weakest link in our team, and she was right! She's always right. This  is just pathetic. You've always held this team down!" 

I thought I saw him crying too before he turned around and darted away, leaving the echo of his words in my brain.

Natsu... Called me weak... I can't... I can't breath... Am I... Falling?

[GRAY'S P.O.V]

Anger boiled in my stomach, as I caught Lucy. I think she fell unconscious when Natsu screamed at her. I knew Natsu was mad, but I didn't think he'd have the nerve to say things like that. Even I couldn't believe it.

I want to kill him. I want to kill Natsu Dragneel for hurting my Lucy.

Yes, MY LUCY.
