I woke up to voices from all angles and from a great amount of pressure being applied to my head.

A man was talking to me but his voice was muffled so I just looked back, not knowing how to respond. The light around me pulsated, almost as if I was in a room with dozens of strobe lights. Everyone around me was moving at a slow pace and I could feel hands grasping various parts of my body and lifting me into the air before being laid down on a cold, hard gurney.

I looked back at the man who was talking to me earlier. He was probably in his late thirties. His muscles were apparent and his face was covered in light stubble.

"You...going...okay," the man spoke to me, catching my stare. I could hear him better, but sound was still fading in and out.

I closed my eyes to avoid making my headache worse and everything closed in around me.

Rebecca was standing at the foot of the hospital bed. The Emergency Room was bright and filled with multiple voices from everywhere. The steady beeping of monitors was enough to drive anyone mad.

"I can't believe this happened to you love," She walked around to my side and sat down on the edge of the bed. Her hand interlocked with my own and she rubbed circles into my skin reassuringly. "You should have woke me up!"

"I didn't want to bother you," I hoarsely spoke. After what happened last night I hadn't spoke much. I called Becca to tell her where I was and what happened. But after that call I kept my lips sealed and watched the people chattering around me.

"Don't ever think you'd bother me," She sighed. "He's a dick and I'll help you kick his ass." I let out a weak chuckle.

"I'll know for next time." I said and squeezed her hand.

"Have you heard anything from the doctor yet?" I shook my head. "What about your parents?"

"They haven't called back yet, the nurse left a message, they are probably out of town." I shrugged, slightly hurt and upset at the absence of my parents worries.

If Sarge were here now everything would be so much easier.

Becca left a few minutes later to grab us food from the food court on the ground floor. I had her pull the curtain shut, boxing me in. I felt protected inside the four walls of outdated curtains. The sound of the machines beeping lowered and I felt a small sliver of peace.

"Lilly goddamnit!" My head snapped in the direction of the voice. The voice that I never wanted to hear again. "What the fuck!"

"Eric," I calmly said, trying not to lose my shit. "I will call security if you don't leave this instant."

"No, Lilly wait," He stepped closer. I moved my hand closer to the emergency button and he took a step backwards. "What happened last night was a mistake. I was drunk off my ass."

"That's no excuse." I blurted back. "You don't send someone photos like that Eric, that wasn't cool."

"I am just so fucking hurt and jealous." He ran his hands through his hair and swayed back and forth uncomfortably, choosing his actions carefully.

"What happened between us was a mistake Eric." I spoke calm again. "I was hurting and you were there. I think it's best that you just get over me and leave me the fuck alone!"

He sighed and walked out of my curtained area. I leaned my body against the back of the bed and started to cry silently. I can't believe he had the audacity to show up here, knowing damn well he caused this to happen.

I just wanted this to end already.
