I unlocked my dorm room and groaned as I walked in. Rebecca was picking out clothes from the closet.
"I see you had a fun night." Becca teased as I flopped down onto my desk chair.
"The fun night was followed by a killer headache." I replied.
"Tell me about it tonight, but now we got to get ready for our first day so grab some clothes and your shower stuff." Becca chuckled as she packed a duffel bag filled with her toiletries and an outfit.
"'Okay," I reluctantly stood up and slipped out of my heels. Flashbacks of the previous night made me blush as I bent over to grab a pair of jeans out of my drawers.
Once I had packed my bag, Becca and I walked to the bathroom in our flip flops. I noticed she was also wearing her outfit from last night.
The two of us finally made it to the bathroom that the entire dorm shared. Four other girls and two guys were already inside. Becca and I found empty shower stalls and whispered good lucks to each other.
I quickly washed all of the remaining aspects of last night. I proceeded to dry off and get changed. My first class starts in an hour.
I opened the curtain to see that Becca had beat me out. She stood at the counter, blow drying her hair. My wet flip flops made a loud sound as I made my way to occupy the counter space next to her.
I dried my hair and pulled my curling iron out of my bag to begin curling it. Becca and I made small talk, both of us avoiding the conversation about last night.
When the both of us were finished we walked back to our room together. We helped each other pack our backpacks and get mentally prepared for the day. My first order of business was popping two tylenols in my mouth to relieve the aches that plagued my body.
Before I knew it, my phone began to ring. I picked it up to see that my alarm was going off for class. I wished Becca good luck and slung my bag over my shoulder. "See you in English!" I yelled from the hallway as she shut the door behind me.

My first class, math, bored me to death. I struggled to stay awake and not even Tylenol could have prevented the headache I got from square roots and imaginary numbers.
My second class of the day with Becca wasn't for another hour so I found a coffee stand near the english building and ordered an espresso to help keep me going. I pulled out my phone, figuring it was a good time to fill my parents in on how my first day of college was going.
"Hi sweetie! Did you sleep well last night?" My mother's voice said after two rings.
"Yes, however my first class was math." I laughed.
"I see, no matter how much sleep you get, math never fails to put you to sleep." My mom laughed too and we continued making small talk for another half an hour.
"Tell dad I'm going to call him tonight." I said as my mother and I were exchanging goodbyes. I hung up and put my phone in my pocket and looked up to see Becca walking towards me.
I stood up and went to meet her. "Hey Lilly, how'd math go?" She asked me out of breath.
"Terrible, I hope english is better now that I actually know somebody in class." I laughed and the two of us headed in the direction of the class.
When we got there, only three other people were there, all sitting in seats far away from each other. We decided to sit in the center of the second row. I put my notebook on my desk along with my pens and pencils. Becca did the same.
