"Everything looks amazing Eric," I smiled at him from across the table as I brushed my leg up against his.

"Thanks, but not as amazing as you." He winked. "Wow, that was really cheesy." Eric chuckled as he shoveled a spoonful of rice into his mouth.

"It was," I teased and cut into my chicken. "So I've been dying to ask you some questions."

"Likewise," Eric smiled, slowing down the pace at which he was devouring the food on his plate.

"How about we play twenty questions?" I offered, nudging him with my foot.

"Sounds good," He mumbled while simultaneously chewing.

"I'll start," I wiped my mouth on a napkin and cleared my throat. "Do you live alone?"

"Yeah, I just moved in last month. I bought this place with the intention of having roommates and lots of parties."

"Have you started looking for roommates yet?" I added.

"Uh, uh, it's my turn to ask a question!" Eric playfully pouted. I smiled at him and he returned the gesture before asking his first question. "Where are you from?

"Starting off a little personal eh?" I cleared my throat before continuing. "Texas, I grew up on a farm."

"Damn, that's going to be one long commute when you go to visit on holidays." Eric studied me for a minute, "And that's where your small accent came from."

"Yup, and tell me about it," I rolled my eyes. "What about you, where are you from?"

"Born and raised in California." He leaned back in his chair. "Just endless heat and endless deserts."

"Well, back home it's just endless farmland, and Texas has quite the temperature as well."

"I bet. What's your family like?"

"My parents are both very sweet and they're accents are much thicker than mine." I giggled. "But I don't have any siblings, besides my pal Sarge." Eric rose an eyebrow. "It's my German Shepherd. He's such a sweetheart, I keep a picture of him near my bed."

"I saw it yesterday, he looks like a beautiful dog." Eric genuinely smiled over at me. "Are you finished?" He nodded towards my empty plate.

I nodded and handed it to him. "Thank you." He quickly cleared off the table. "But what about you?"

"What about me?" Eric teased.

"You know, what's your family like?"

"Oh," Eric dried his hands off on his shirt and walked over to me. "They're a normal family." He shrugged uncomfortably. I knew there was something more but didn't think it was my place to press him further.

"Okay, well, it's your turn." I cleared my throat and shifted my weight.

"Enough with the questions." He smiled down at me. His face inched closer and closer to mine until our lips met.

It didn't feel like how Tony would make me feel. The passion was gone and there was no fire, no butterflies erupting in my stomach. I just felt calm. I wasn't sure if that was the right way to describe what was going on.

I don't know if Eric was calm or not but his pace quickened by the second. I tried to match Eric's pace but my heart wasn't into it.

Yesterday Eric left my skin tingling and my heart beating. Today I'm aching to pull away. I took my lips off of his and rested my head on his chest. Eric said nothing, just hummed as our bodies swayed. I felt his fingers trace the indent on my arm, causing chills to run down my spine.
