Hayes~

I'm just waiting for the wedding to start right now.  We’ve helped/complained through months of planning, but today it’ll all be worth it.  Nash was right, wedding plans are BORING!!

We talked to the guests and waited.  Jake flew in from Ireland for the wedding, too.  He still doesn’t like or trust me, but when he tried to tell Eliza she wouldn’t listen.

I walked up to him, “Hey, thanks for coming.”  He just looked at me for a second before speaking, “If you hurt my little sister again I will beat the shit out of you.”  I nodded, “I won’t.”  He smiled at me, “Good,” He paused and chuckled, “I never thought my little sister would get married before me.”  I laughed, too and as soon as I did one of the bride’s maids came in and told us the girls were ready.

The flower girl, the ring bearer and the rest of them came down and finally I got to see Eliza and since she didn’t have a dad Jake was walking her down the aisle.  My jaw dropped to the ground at how beautiful she is.

Her hair was curly and her veil was set on her head perfectly and her dress looked perfect on her.

My eyes met hers as she came down the aisle and we both smiled.  I remembered back to 4 years ago when I thought I would never see her again.  I felt like I was missing half of me, and I was.  She is my other half.

She walked down the aisle and it was like we were the only two people in the world.

Jake~

I don’t see why Eliza agreed to marry this twat after what he did to her.  I still don’t like him, but if she’s happy I have to pretend I am too.  I was standing by the entrance waiting for the girls when Hayes approached me, “Hey, thanks for coming.”  I hate him.  “If you hurt my little sister again I will beat the shit out of you.” I stated simply.  I was never one to beat around the bush.  He just nodded and said, “I won’t,” I had to pretend I’m happy that she’s getting married so I just put on a fake smile and said, “good.”  I still had to pretend I’m happy so I said chuckled and said, “I never thought my sister would get married before me.”  He chuckled too and soon enough one of the girls came in and said that the brides were coming in so I stepped out so see Eliza and walk her down the aisle.

We don’t have a dad because right after she was born mom ran him over while they were in a drunken fight.  Eliza never knew that, mom and I told her that dad left us right after she was born.  Now that mom’s dead I think it’s time she knows.  Not right now, though, today is her wedding day, and I can’t ruin that for her.  Not that I approve of her getting married when she’s only 17, and I hate her soon to be husband, but I can’t change her mind and I have to be happy for her.

I walked outside and saw her in her gown and all that and she looked beautiful.  Over the years in Ireland she has changed.  Her hair was now platinum blonde and down to her butt, her freckles disappeared, her fake smile got even brighter, and her eyes changed in some unexplainable way.  They got darker, sorta.  They turned ice cold, she never let anyone in and just her eyes told people to back off.  She didn’t trust anyone but me after that, and I still am keeping secrets from her.  I think she can tell just by the way I talk.  It’s been hard to keep the truth from her lately, and I think she’s ready, but with the wedding and all I just couldn’t find the right time to say it.  Tonight I will.  Tonight after the reception I will tell her what really happened to dad.

Anyway, right now we are walking down the aisle and I look over at her and see her looking at Hayes, who is staring straight back.  The love is practically radiating off of them and at this exact moment in time I am reassured that he will be there for her through thick and thin, that he won’t hurt her again.

When we got to the end of the aisle Hayes came down the steps to meet her and I whispered in her ear so only she could hear, “I need to talk to you after the reception.”  She nodded and I looked at Hayes and said quietly, “don’t you dare hurt her.”  He nodded and they walked back up the stairs together.

The rest of the boring priest talking I tuned out.  I tuned it all out until they said their vows.  Hayes went first.  “Eliza. I have loved you since the first time I saw you.  I know what I did all those years ago was horrible, and I have never really forgiven myself for it.  But even after all this time we still found each other, and I don’t want to have to find you again.  I want you to be by my side forever, and this time I promise I won’t let you be the one that got away.”  Eliza had tears in her eyes and they fell as she said her vows.  “How am I supposed to compete with that?!”  Everyone laughed as she continued, “Hayes I love you, and I always have.  I am living every fan of yours’ dreams.  Although we hit some rough patches, we are still here today.  I love you.”  I tuned the rest out and then they kissed and the wedding ended and we all went to the reception.

I had the first dance with Eliza since we don’t have a dad and after that she changed into a white strapless dress.  The reception went by pretty quick and soon enough we were back in their dorm and I was helping them move into their new house.  While Hayes drove stuff to the new house I decided to tell her.  “Eliza, I need to tell you that dad didn’t really walk out on us.  Mom ran over him with a car almost right after you were born.”  She just nodded, “I always had a feeling that something happened.”

She’s so smart.
