   You tried to unwrap a monster that was already unwrapped. You tried to play with my feelings and ended hurt. You tried me and tasted hell. You tried to control me and you couldn't. You tried to make me lose my mind and I didn't. You tried so many things that at the end of the day were pointless.

   You tried to convince yourself that I was the right one before I closed the door and shut your feelings out. Then you tried to win me back and it didn't work.

  You tried to fix a heart that was already broken when you had it. You tried hard and I congratulate you for it. But it wasn't you, it was me. Yeah, the repeated cliché phrase.

This time it was really me trying to put on a good face. Trying to give life a second chance. Trying to forget the love of my life. Trying to fall in love with you. Trying to miss my real self and turn into someone new. Trying to flirt, to smile, to care and to breathe. You were hardly trying and I was trying hard. 

It wasn't you trying, it was me.
