American Dream: a kid and his suitcase

Won't shatter my dreams,

won't hold me to grow taller.

A simple "Take my hand" scheme,

that changed my life; a hammer.

Heard the "Good-Bye" song

maybe one too many times.

I wanted to stay strong,

but didn't have enough lifetimes.

I cuddled with the metal bird,

looking for new frontiers.

I felt anything but scared

while waiting for the new land to appear,

A kid from another land.

A kid that didn't know the language.

It was his time to stand.

Adapt and keep your heritage!

"And what would change do to you?"

asked everyone back home.

It would teach you new values,

the American Dream syndrome.

Now I look back

and find myself lucky.

Thank you, mom and dad!

Thank you for making me happy.
