Ethan's POV:
She's stood right next to me. Why can't I talk to her? Something is holding me back but I don't know what and it's starting to annoy me.
"I'll see you later?" She asks as we reach her classroom.
"Whatever." The word rolls right off my tongue. She looks at me, obviously hurt by my reply but doesn't answer. She just walks away.
I don't even know why I said it. I wasn't thinking. I'm just in one of those moods where I say stupid things.
"Mate, what did you say to her?" Josh scoffs as he walks up to me.
"What do you mean?"
"She ran into that classroom so quickly, you obviously upset her."
"No I-"
"Did you tell her you liked her? It didn't go well, did it?"
"No. I don't like her. She's so annoying and she's not even pretty." I scoff.
"Well, ok then." Josh replies, smirking. He walks off leaving me stood in a puddle of my own guilt.
Why did I say that? She's annoyed at me anyway and I've just made it worse. Everything is going wrong today.
Josh's POV:
I don't know what's up with Ethan today. I mean he clearly likes Sophie, so why is he saying all this stuff?
Luckily, I have music with Sophie now so I can talk to her. As I walk in, she's sat at a piano.
"Sophie, hey." I say, walking over.
"Oh hey Josh." Her reply is blunt and I can sense she's not feeling great.
"Look, I know you like Ethan and I know he likes you. But there's something you should know about him."
"Huh? What?" She spins her head round and looks at me, indicating me to tell her.
"He told me he hates you, that you're annoying and that you're not pretty. I don't know why because everything he said is a lie."
She doesn't reply. Instead she turns around to her piano and sighs.
"It's fine, we aren't together anyway." She mutters.
