Sophie's POV:
I turn away from Josh and stare down at the piano keys. Why is Ethan being so horrible? I mean I get it, he doesn't want people to know but he doesn't have to say all this stuff.
"Mind if I slide in next to you?" Dan's soft voice asks, sliding into the seat beside me.
"Hey Dan." I smile at him. Dan and I get along quite well and we have that kind of weird friendship where everything is a joke.
"Spill. I know somethings wrong Soph."
"Ethan is just telling people all these things about me and it's kind of upsetting I guess."
"Listen to me. You're great, ok? If he says anything other than that, he's wrong. Please don't be upset."
His hand slides over mine on the keys and he gives it a squeeze. I look up at him and meet his piercing blue eyes.
"Thank you." I slide my hand out of his and he puts some music on the stand.
"Let's play."
Ethan's POV:
"Ethan! Pay attention." Mr Lander yells at me. I drag my eyes up to the board and pretend I'm listening.
Truth is, I can't focus. Sophie is crossing my mind every five seconds. I've said all this stuff and I really don't mean it.
"Can you please just do something?" Mia asks.
"What?" I reply.
"Just get on with some work. I've never seen someone so distracted. What's going on?"
"Stuff, ok? You're just making things worse with your stupid notes." I fire at her. She looks a bit take aback by my comment.
"Oh come on. It was one note and you know you liked it. You should've called. It would've been great." She winks at me and I scoff at her.
"Whatever you say. Also, how are you and Kieran?" I laugh.
"We aren't dating." She goes bright red.
"Just friends with benefits?"
She doesn't say anything, just gets up and walks to another table. I guess I should sort everything out with Sophie.
