Ethan's POV:

"No dad. I'm not dating anyone." I tell him for the fifth time. We have been driving back home from cycling for about 20 minutes and he's been on my case since we got in the car.

"Abby has a boyfriend. I just thought maybe you had a girlfriend and that's who you go and see all the time." My dad says as we turn a corner.
"No." I mutter and turn my head to look out the window. It's weird lying when someone asks you if you're single. I'm not someone to boast about things but Sophie, she's something else. I want people to know she's with me. She's mine.

The car pulls up into the driveway and I hop out. I grab my bike from the back and wheel it into the garage before heading inside. I run straight upstairs and text Sophie.

NEW MESSAGE TO - Soph❣
*Im home. You free tonight? xx*
*yes why? x*
She replies almost immediately which is kind of surprising.
*dads going out, come over and watch a movie?❤️*
*maybe 😉*
*pleaseeeeee*
*convince me.*
I can imagine her smirking as she sent that text.
*come over and maybe i will👅👅*
*yo nastyyyy*
*just come over.*

"Ethan, I'm heading out with your mother. Abby is at Luke's." My dad calls from downstairs. Luke is Abby's boyfriend and they are cringey as hell.
"Yeah ok." I call back to him. Not long after they leave there is a knock at the door. I run downstairs and open the front door. Sophie stands outside in a big jumper.
"Hey." She smiles.
"Hi. Come in." I close the door behind her and invite her upstairs. She follows me into my room, glancing at all the different medals and trophies scattered around.

"I never realised how good at cycling you are." She says pointing to all the medals.
"I compete but not as often as I used to."
"Wow."
She sits on the edge of my bed and I join her.
"What did you want to do then?" She asks.
"Just hang out I guess. I mean we have school tomorrow and I can't spend time with you."
"Oh, yeah. Yeah." She replies, looking down at the floor.
"I know this is strange."

She doesn't reply. I place my hand on top of hers and grasp it. She squeezes my hand and her eyes stare into mine.
"Let's just see how it goes, I mean it might not work." She says slowly.
"It might, it just might."
