Ethan's POV:
"No, you can't move again." I mumble.
"I told you that this is how my life works."
"No, Sophie. Please."
I pull her into me and wrap my arms around her. She's hesitant at first but soon gives in and hugs me back.
"Why are you leaving?" I ask.
"Mums job. She got a promotion but it's not around here."
"Can't you just stay with your dad?"
"My dad's dead." She says, pulling away.
"Sorry, I meant your step dad."
"He just follows my mum. I'm screwed." She says as tears form in her eyes.
I gently kiss her forehead as she cries onto my shoulder. I'm never like this. I never catch real feelings.
But something about her is different.
"We can make this work." I whisper.
"Ethan-" She begins.
"No, I can't just let you go. I've never felt like this about anyone. I'm not losing you to Dan or to anyone." I interrupt.
She sighs and hugs me tight, before letting go. She looks at me and smiles before turning to walk away.
"No." I say, grabbing her arm.
"Ethan, it's easier to say goodbye now." She mumbles.
"I'm not saying goodbye. You're fucking staying. I can't lose you." I yell.
She walks back and squeezes my hand. We walk in silence down the street before reaching our road.
"We can stay in touch." She smiles softly.
"Sophie, I-I love you." I whisper.
"I love you too." She blushes and walks away.
And I watch her go.
