Axel and Rahas

I will be honest ma'am and tell you Axel is probably my favorite of your portrayals of all the portraits (though I love all of them). So I was thinking about how he doesn't like Rahas, and was wondering if in the future they'll somehow settle their differences, or if they'll always "hate" each other? Or what Rahas could do to somehow win over Axel? Cuz the guardians are so much like a family I can't help wanting them all to be happy and to get along <3

Yeah, unfortunately Axel doesn't like Rahas too much. He finds him frustrating to deal with because of how moody and flighty he is. He especially doesn't like how he treats Lynus and the others. He tries to tolerate him though for the sake of Lynus and the guild because any tension between members will be felt amongst all of the guild. And in the world of exploration, tension between members is not a good thing. He values the lives of his guild over his own feelings.

For his part Rahas both resents and admires Axel, though he finds if extremely difficult to show the latter. He resents how Axel was able to "win" Lynus over to him so easily and how well he is able to protect him and make him feel safe within a matter of minutes, something that Rahas had wanted to do but never could manage. He also admirers him because of how strong he is and how he puts everyone in the guild first and will do whatever is necessary to keep them safe. Again something Rahas wanted to do but couldn't.

Right now they don't necessarily like each other, though don't show it openly. It won't always be this way, though. There will be a time where they will put aside their resentment and suspicion for the sake of the guild and realise that the other isn't so bad.

It won't be easy though. Rahas finds it hard to let go of negative emotions, especially since he's been grappling with them his whole life. But now that Shiki is back in his life, he has his 'father figure' to help him. And with Simmons gradually winning him over, he'll release his need to protect Lynus and start focusing on himself.

It will need to take something major for Axel to put aside his unease and suspicion toward Rahas. Something like saving his life, the life of a guild member, or rescuing Lynus from a terrible situation. Doing something for him with the intention of sucking up won't win Axel over. Doing something for another because it's the right thing to do will garner his attention.

Things between Axel and Rahas are uneasy to say the least, but one day the two will become allies and then friends. It will take some time and effort on both their parts, but with their guildmates' encouragement, it will happen~

Axel will see Rahas in a different light after Rahas helps Simmons with something VERY important but shhh no spoilers :D
