Lights flashed, angry and disorientating as Iyden was pushed into the room with Dale. Music was blearing, splitting Iyden's ears open. He felt like screaming: there was a hoard of jumping teenagers dancing in the middle of the room. Or, what Iyden thought must be dancing.
Fear flooded through him as Dale grabbed his arm and dragged him to the corner of the room.
"Just dance a little!" Dale shouted over the music, and started to dance against Iyden, just like everybody else was doing. Iyden attempted to move his body to the beat, but he failed to achieve anything except for swinging his arms around miserably. The music was getting to him- loud and making him feel dizzy, uncomfortable...
"Dale, I don't like it." he said loudly as the track change. Dale looked at him and shrugged, turning round to the girl next to him and starting to dance with her: a red headed, pretty girl who Iyden knew as Carmia Tomes, a girl in his maths class.
Iyden suddenly felt isolated in the dancing mass of teenagers, and his heart started to hurt like something was twisting a knife slowly into it.
Panic.
Hands trembled, and sweat started to form on his palms, sticky and nasty and...
Oh God, he wasn't safe. He wasn't at home. He couldn't call Haydrian: he still thought he was with Dale at the park....he'd be angry, so he couldn't phone him. He couldn't breathe. He became dizzy, chest pains, intense feeling of terror started to dawn on him-
And he screamed.
No one seemed to notice- everyone just kept dancing and mingling, making Iyden's fear even worse. No one cared, not one person had noticed at all....until he felt a hand.
He freaked out and hit flesh-
Dale. It was Dale.
He was standing next to him, his hand, which had been smacked out of the way, was now down at his side. He looked at Iyden and gave him a shakey smile. He leaned forward and whispered into his ear.
"You're having a panic attack, Iyden, I'm gonna get out out of here-"
Iyden felt sick crawling up his throat.
"Yes... I am, get me out of here, I'm suffo-"
"Yeah, okay, okay...ssshhh..." Dale said, trying to be calm, and he hoped he sounded caring, and dragged Iyden out of the room.
