Chapter Twenty

Kihyun sat in his room in the dark alone. He couldn't sleep even with Changkyun's sweatshirt next to him. He just couldn't get the feeling that something was watching him from the corners of the room. He finally sat up and grabbed Changkyun's sweatshirt before pulling it over his head. Once it was on he laid back down and got comfortable hoping that he could sleep now. He felt a little bit more comfortable but still didn't feel tired. He grabbed his phone off the bedside table and winced at the brightness when he unlocked his phone. After turning the brightness completely down he looked at the time. It was almost two in the morning and he really needed to get sleep so he could go home soon. The doctor said that he would let Kihyun go home as long as he was healing and healthy. That included his mental state as well. 

He just knew for sure that the doctor wouldn't let him go if he knew that Kihyun was up all night being paranoid. He sighed and looked at the time once more before bringing up his messages. Changkyun told him to call or text him if anything was wrong no matter what time it was. He typed out a simple message asking if he was awake and sent it. Kihyun felt bad as soon as he sent the message silently hoping he wouldn't wake Changkyun up even if he needed him. He wasn't worth any of his friends losing sleep over him and he didn't want to be a burden to them. He felt his phone buzz and looked at Changkyun's reply.

I am now. Why are you awake?

Kihyun smiled a little bit but then frowned when he realized he would have to reply.

I can't sleep and just need someone to talk to. 

Do you want me to call or just text?

Call please

Kihyun didn't have to wait long before he felt his phone buzzing and saw Changkyun's contact photo appear on his screen. He answered immediately but didn't get to say hello before Changkyun was asking him a question he hoped he wouldn't have to answer. 

"Why can't you sleep?" Changkyun said in a tired voice and Kihyun knew he shouldn't have texted him.

"I just feel like someone is watching me in the dark. I know I need sleep or I won't get released from here but how am I supposed to sleep when I can feel eyes on me?" Kihyun asked and heard Changkyun laugh a little bit.

"That's fair. You do know no one is in the room with you right? It's all in your head and probably only because you're in a hospital. You just have to picture that you aren't in a hospital and you'll be able to sleep." Changkyun replied. 

"How do I do that?" Kihyun asked already relaxing just listening to Changkyun talk.

"Well you have my sweatshirt so try putting that on and imagine you're at Wonho's house. Imagine we're all sleeping over like we usually do on the weekends. Once you're out of your head it's easy to relax." Changkyun said and Kihyun could tell he had a smile on his face.

"Can you just talk to me until I fall asleep?" Kihyun asked as he laid down and got comfortable without hurting his back.

"If you want me to. Just know that I may fall asleep on you instead." Changkyun said as Kihyun laughed a little.

It wasn't long after Kihyun got comfortable that he started to feel tired Just listening to Changkyun talk about something random. He could feel himself drifting off to sleep and let it happen. He ended up falling asleep but not before he heard Changkyun say something before hanging up.

"Goodnight Kihyun. I love you." 

Kihyun smiled and fell asleep thinking about how he loved Changkyun and wished they could be happy together. He knew that that couldn't happen until Jiseok was behind bars and out of their lives.

I am so sorry for leaving you guys for so long! I had a lot of work to do for my classes and had to take finals! Those are now over and I will be done with classes tomorrow! I will hopefully be able to write more seeing as I won't have any classes until next year. Thank you all for being so patient! I'm sorry this is so short but I hope you guys enjoy it!
