Let Me Help You

Chapter Nineteen

I am so sorry for not updating sooner! I have a lot on my plate with my classes. I have to make a presentation for a speech by Monday and also have an essay to write by Monday! Once those are done I will be free to write for a little bit. Thank you all for being so patient!

~A Week Later~

It's been a week since Kihyun's surgery and he still hasn't woken up yet. Changkyun never left Kihyun's side unless his friends forced him to go home and shower. Right now Changkyun was the only one in the room when he heard Kihyun start to shift. He looked over with a smile on his face when he saw Kihyun staring at him with a smile on his face. He stretched out his arm and grabbed Kihyun's hand. 

"Hey." Changkyun said with a smile on his face.

"Hey." Kihyun said as his voice sounded hoarse. 

"How are you feeling?" Changkyun asked as he moved his chair closer to the bed.

"My back hurts like hell. I also have a killer headache and I'm really thirsty." Kihyun said as he laughed a little before frowning.

"I'll get the nurses to give you your pain meds. I'll go get you some water." Changkyun said as he started to get up only to be pulled down on the bed.

"Don't leave me. I don't want to be alone." Kihyun said as he started to curl into Changkyun's side.

"But you're thirsty." Changkyun said as he wrapped his arms around Kihyun.

"Someone else can get it. I just don't want to be left alone." Kihyun said as he finally got comfortable.

Changkyun was looking down at Kihyun when he heard the door start to open. He looked up and watched the others walk in. He smiled shyly when they noticed that he was laying in the bed.

"Why are you in the bed?" Jooheon asked looking at Changkyun with a confused look.

"Because I pulled him down. He was going to leave me in here alone and I don't want to be alone." Kihyun said as he lifted his head up from Changkyun's chest.

"Why was he going to leave you?" Minhyuk asked.

"I was going to get you guys so you knew he was awake but I was also going to get him something to drink." Changkyun said.

"I'll go get him something to drink." Shownu said as he then walked out of the room. 

Kihyun just laid his head back on Changkyun's chest and closed his eyes.

"Hey, don't sleep on us now. You've been out for a week." Wonho said with a neutral expression.

"A week!" Kihyun shouted as he sat up quickly.

Wonho just shook his head as a quiet 'ow' was heard from Changkyun. Kihyun just looked down at his lap and felt tears well up in his eyes and he tried to blink them away before anyone noticed. He wasn't quick enough.

"Kihyun are you okay?" Hyungwon asked as he walked over to the side of the bed.

"I'm fine. It's just the pain in my back and head. I sat up too quickly forgetting about the surgery. I'm sorry if I worried you guys." Kihyun said as he lifted his head and wiped his eyes.

"How did you make Kihyun cry?" Shownu asked as he walked into the room.

"We didn't!" Minhyuk and Jooheon shouted at the same time.

"Then why is he crying?" Shownu asked as he walked over and handed Kihyun the cup of water he was holding.

"We told him he was out for a week and he sat up too quickly." Wonho said.

"Well I told the nurses that you were awake so they should be in here soon to check you out. They can give you pain meds then." Shownu said as he made his way to an empty chair. 

Just as he sat down the door opened and a couple of nurses followed by a doctor walked in. They smiled at him and made Changkyun get off the bed. Changkyun frowned as he walked over to Jooheon and Minhyuk noticing them snickering. Changkyun slapped Jooheon when he whispered something in his ear. Kihyun noticed a little bit of a blush appearing on Changkyun's face.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked from the end of the bed.

"I have pain in my back and I also have a headache. Other than that I feel fine." Kihyun answered.

"We'll give you some pain meds for the pain in you back and your headache. I would like to keep you here for at least two more days just to make sure nothing goes wrong. The surgery went perfectly and it looks like the knife didn't hit anything important. You are a very lucky man. Any questions?" The doctor said as he looked at Kihyun and his friends. 

"Can I have one of my friends stay with me over night?" Kihyun asked as he looked down shyly.

"I don't think that's allowed but I'll see what I can do for you. If it comes down to it you might have one of them leave something of theirs here so it seems like their here." The doctor said as he gave Kihyun a small smile.

"Okay, thank you." Kihyun said as he watched the doctor leave the room. 

The nurses stayed for a little bit and checked out the incision from the surgery. They then gave Kihyun the pain medication before smiling and walking over to the door.

"The pain meds might make him a little loopy and tired." One of the nurses said as she closed the door behind her. 

Kihyun laid back down and looked at all of his friends.

"I hope it doesn't make me loopy. I would prefer to keep my sanity while I'm in here." Kihyun said as he laughed a little bit. 

"But I want some videos that I can use to make fun of you later." Jooheon said as Minhyuk agreed.

They all just laughed and got Kihyun caught up on what happened over the week he was out. Kihyun waited nervously for the doctor to come back hopefully with good news for him.

Here's the next chapter! I hope you all like it. I will try to update sometime before next week. Me and Jay are going to see family for Thanksgiving and I'm not sure I'll have my laptop with me.
