She was reading a book in the Mountain. She had just taken a shower, and was trying to get warm by snuggling as deep into the couch she could. Artemis wore track sweatpants from Gotham North, and a green tee-shirt. It was cold in the cave. She wondered if Batman had turned the heat down on the thermostat or something. She had a cold, and she knew it. It started two days ago, and yesterday she wasn't feeling that good, and right now, she was trying to keep her lunch down. As she read her book, a gust of wind was heard. Turning around, she spotted none other then Wally West. He was in the kitchen, searching the drawers for food.
"Hey, Baywatch, keep it down!" She shouted.
"Well excuse me." He snorted, continuing his exploration.
She turned around to her book. It wasn't very interesting, in fact, she had no interest at all in it. It was a class assignment, and she had to read five chapters by tomorrow third period.
Coughing, she snuggled into the couch for warmth. She had trouble staying along with the book, and was soon drifting off, before a certain speedster plopped down next to her. She let it go, as she was too tired to protest.
Soon, she began to feel cramps in her stomach again, and queasiness soon overtook her. She carefully stood up, shaking, as her legs felt very unstable. Her hand flew to her forehead, as if it could smooth the oncoming headache.
Oh god, she needed to get to a bathroom, now.
Kid Flash looked at her, concern inching to his face. "Hey, Blondie, you okay?"He asked standing up too.
When she didn't answer, and started swaying, with her hand to her mouth, he knew something was wrong. But he got the point, and scooped her up, speeding her to the nearest bathroom. As soon as she was set down, she leaned over the toilet, her hair falling over her face. He held it back for her.
She started whimpering. She hated this part, the one where you are waiting for it to come up, and you really hope it won't, but you know it will, and anxiety takes over you.
Suddenly, she puked into the toilet. It hurt her throat, and she recoiled. "Hey, Hey it's okay." He whispered.
She puked again, this time, falling backward in exhaustion. Wally picked her up, and took her back to the living room, setting her on the couch.
She snuggled into it, and shivered.
He looked around to find no blankets, so he went searching. Finally, he found them in the closet, taking the whole stack with him to the archer.
He gently layered her in blankets. He face was contorted into a frown. He gently lifted her head, and sat it on his lap. "What hurts?" He asked.
"Stomach...." she managed.
He nodded and gently laid her head down again. Then, he went to the kitchen. He made some soup and tea for her. He brought it over to the coffee table and set it down.
"Soup?" He asked.
She shook her head. "C'mon, you gotta eat something." She still shook her head.
Maybe later he thought as he sat on the couch, resting her head on his lap.
He found interest in her hair. He never realized it was so soft and shiny. He ran his hand through the thick blonde hair.
She whimpered. "Do you—" he started.
"No." She said.
The cramps were getting her again. Badly this time. She tried to stay tough, not cry, but damn, these hurt. She let a single tear slip down her cheek.
Wally frowned. He hated seeing her cry. He grabbed her legs and shoulders, cradling her close. He whispered soothing sounds to her, and she rested her head on his shoulders, trying not to cry.
Soon, she fell asleep. He smiled at how beautiful she was. He kissed her forehead, and soon fell asleep too.
