Fear. That's all they felt. They'd actually been captured.

It's not like they haven't been captured before, they have. But never for this long. Don't get me wrong, they weren't helpless, they'd almost escaped twice. But they never made it passed the guards. There were too many of them and two little of the team.

Then he came. And everything went to hell. He was there kidnapper, and honestly it wasn't as bad as it sounded.

But it was to Artemis.

Trauma. Flashbacks. Memories of her father all rushing back to her at once. He just reminded her so much of him. Usually she could take villains like this, not really caring. But this was personal, this was terrifying her. She thought they'd taken care of him, thought he was gone.

And he was. At least that's what they were trying to tell her.

They'd been taken individually out for interrogations. Wally had been gone for who knows how long. She'd broken down when he left, reminded of the nightmares she had of her Dad taking Wally away from her.

She now was huddled in a corner, holding back the tears, shaking her head to get rid of the ideas swarming through her mind. Megan was trying to  calm her down, and failing. She was calming down though, not remembering the trauma she'd had as a child.

The door opened and everyone's eyes except the blonde flew to Wally being dragged into the room. He had a reluctant look on his face, one that looked like he wanted to bite his head off. "Get off me!" He yelled, shaking the guards arm off and brushing his arm.

"You son of a-" he saw Artemis. "What happened!" He broke off into a dead sprint to the blonde.

Then the capturer came in. They called him Phantom. When he entered the room, Artemis scattered away, trying to keep her cool, but loosing it quickly.

Megan quickly explained why Artemis reacted like this to Wally, and his face hardened. "Aww. Is the little princess scared that I'm her father? Because I can act like her father, I can act much worse little girl." He chuckled, crouching down to her level and pulling her chin up.

She shuddered and choked back a sob. Wally pushed him away harshly. "Get away from her!"

The man got back up again, and waved to his guards to re-grab Kid Flash. "Feisty. And there's a boy involved." He said.

"You stay away from her..." He growled.

"Wally..." Robin gave him a firm look that told him to be careful of his words.

"Y'know, I'm suddenly more interested in you..." He bent back down to Artemis level.

She finally got the courage, and a bit of her old self back, and slapped him. "Oh, now we're talking."

He grabbed her by the neck, and lifted her up against the wall. "Stop!" This time it was Robin who jerked forward, being held back by guards too.

Artemis clutched her neck, gasping to get oxygen in her throat. "Ah ah ah. What's the magic word?"  He said smiling.

"Go...to hell..." she murmured.

He threw her against the wall. "That's not it." He growled. "I will not be disrespected."

Those words. I will not be disrespected.

Flashbacks of her childhood came to her in one movement. She'd heard those words too many times. "Don't....hurt me..." she murmured.

Those words. Don't hurt me.

Memories of nightmares she'd had in the passed triggered Wally. He thought he'd never have to hear those words again. He thought he got rid of those nightmares for her.

"Stay away from her!" He yelled.

"Oh I will. For now." He waved for the guards to release them.

They left the room and Wally charged over to Artemis. "Artemis! Hey, hey, shhhh."

She curled into him as he embraced her, tears falling down her cheeks. "He's gone. He's never going to hurt you again. I promise."

Except that was a lie. He told her that the last time she had a nightmare, and he still lost her to whatever this phantom guy was. He was suppose to protect her.

Robin placed a hand on his shoulder. "It wasn't your fault."

"How can you say that? I told her I'd protect her! I did nothing except stand there!" He said.

"No you didn't, Wally. You tried getting out of there grasp, you couldn't. Wally she's strong, she'll make it through. So stop worrying about something you didn't do, and help her make it through."

He looked to her and held her closer, "Shhh. He's gone. I won't let him come ba—" she grabbed him by the neck and wrapped her arms tightly around his shoulders.

"Thank you. You've done e-enough." She He murmured.

He smiled at those words and held her tighter.

"Let's gets out of here."
