The boat rocked back and forth on the Hudson Bay. Wally huffed and pulled his parka closer to his chest.

This particular mission was to protect the ancient green statue, as the League has intel that the League of Shadows we're going to terrorize it. (AKA blow it up). The thing that sucked though, it was an undercover mission.

This was not the way Wally wanted to see New York.

He was disguised as a fisherman. Why a fisherman, would be out in the middle of the Hudson Bay, at 12:01 at night, in the freezing cold, he had no idea.

Kaldur accompanied him, looking his feet in the water, not minding the cold. Since Wally was the mechanic of the team, he was sent with the fish man of the team for the water identity to control the boat.

Megan was stationed as a security guard with Connor, roaming the island itself, probably on a bench cuddling or something.

Artemis, Robin, and Rocket, were in the helicopter, taking up the 'News Reporter' title. He was pretty sure Robin was controlling the helicopter, Rocket and Zatanna were the 'news reporters', and Artemis the 'camera woman'. In reality though, Rocket was probably sleeping, Artemis tightening her bow, and Robin trying to scare the crap out of Zatanna trying to do air tricks.

And he was stuck on this damn boat.

He picked up the binoculars, searching the island through the lenses. He sighed in boredom, scrunching his nose at the scent of dead fish.

Trees, Giant green foot, crowd of men, benches, ticket statio—men? The island was closed at this hour.

He looked closer and saw them carrying ammunition, loaded with guns. "Kaldur!" He whispered.

Aqualad stood up and walked over to him, holding his hand out for the lenses. "This is not good." A look of grim on his face.

"Alert the team."

Thy had to use and actual com link, because they feared Psimon would be there and pick up their presence. Wally pressed the bottom on the piece and his ear. "M'gann, Connor."

He heard smooching noises on the other side. "Ah, gross." He shook his head in attempt to get the thought out of his head.

"Rob?" He said.

"Yeah? Here."

"We got company, right side of the statue." He sat down on the drivers seat of the boat.

"Ah shoot." He responded.

Wally slowly pushed the lever forward, propelling the boat towards the dock soundly as Kaldur started stripping down to his uniform.

"What's the plan?" He asked as the Atlantean dove off.

"Aqualad will circle the island, find out where and what their transport is. We'll circle back. Kid, you get the boat to the dock, get off and find M'gann and Connor. Rocket, you'll be our aerial support. I'll keep Artemis and use her for long range."

"Sounds like your trying to steal my girl." He smirked, steering the boat to the dock.

"In your dreams Wall-man. He's got me." Zatanna Said through the com.

"You guys are so freaking cheesy." Artemis voice broke through.

Wally docked the boat, and stripped himself of the parka. "Please, M'gann and Superboy are worse."

He touched his chest, and the costume transformed into a black shade. "Agreed." He hoisted himself onto the dock.

"Alright, so just attack?"

"Find M'gann and Superboy first." Robin responded.

He groaned and started to run. Everything went slo-mo, and he searched for the two lovers. Thing is, he couldn't find them anywhere. "Guys." He stopped at the gift shop.

"I can't find them." He huffed.

"Oh, but we found you." Psimon Said.

"Ah. The freaky brain guy. I see you've joined the league of shadows. How is it? Do they serve good food?" He asked, turning around.

"You'll be the only thing I'm serving tonight." He cracked his knuckles.

Then the attack started. Zatanna and Rocket floated down, and began launching things at him. Gun shots fired their way, and Rocket ended up shielding them in a bubble. "Go find M'gann and Superboy!" She yelled.

He nodded and ran to base of the statue, and found Sportsmaster, holding a sword to M'ganns neck and a kryptonite gun aimed at Superboys head. Ah, Ah, Ah, I wouldn't."

He froze in place. "I'm gonna make you a deal. You all leave this island, and we blow it up peacefully, and they get to live."

"We're gonna pass on that." Artemis fired an arrow at her father, and it pinned the arms sleeve that was holding the sword to the wall perfectly.

The weapon clattered to the ground, and Robin got a batarang out. "So here's actually how it's gonna go, you let them go, or I'll blow you up." He said.

"Or...." Sportsmaster ripped the arrow from the wall, "No deal at all."

Then the attack started. Men in black clothing charged at them, and they started the fight. Wally rolled his eyes, just once, couldn't he have a simple arrest if the criminals?

He began to speed around, attacking the men individually. He kneed one in the crotch, clashed two heads together, and grabbed a bullet in mid air.

He was doing pretty well until he heard a scream. Megan's scream. She'd started attacking as soon as the fight began, and a bullet headed straight her way. Wally began to run, but Artemis beat him to it. Her steps were slow to him, and it looked like she was running on the moon. He saw as she held her hands in front of her, a trash can lid from somewhere shielding her, and watched as the bullet bounced off the tin lid.

The impact made her faulted in her steps, and a man in black pushed her. She stumbled back slowly, and hit her head hard on the railing, before tumbling off into the Bay.

"Artemis!" Everything went back to normal speed.

Then Sportsmaster came up from behind, and tried to suffocate Wally. "She's mine, Yellow boy. Always has, always will be." He said.

Wally quickly used the wall to run up, and flip himself over Sportsmaster, and began to suffocate him instead. Then, he quickly ran over to the trash can in super speed, ran back, and hit him hard on the head with it.

He went back to normal speed, and Sportsmaster clambered to the ground. The men fled, seeing their leader fall down. Psimon instructed them to the boats, and they left quicker then you could say coward.

Aqualad climbed the steps from the dock, and carried Artemis with him. Her shivering from the cold, and looking ready to pass out.

Wally ran to her, and collected her from Aqualads arms. He cradled her to keep her warm, and whispered "Don't ever do that again."

"No-Not m-my fault..." she half shivered and half smiled.

"She's mine..." Sportsmaster said, getting to his feet.

Wally grabbed a nearby rock, and through it at him. Sportsmaster fell to the ground.

"No. She's mine."

"I'm n-nobody's you imbisole."
