"Haeri ah we should probably move in the furniture first before--"

The black haired boy's footsteps came to a stop when he saw the people at the door.

Before he could protest, his hands were cuffed and the man behind him spoke, "Min Yoongi you are being arrested for the murder and kidnapping of Cho Jaeah and the kidnapping of Son Haeri. You have the right to remain silent as anything you say can or will be used against you."

"He didn't kidnap me!" The boy heard Haeri shout while trying to stop the policeman from taking him away.

She was grasping for him but the cold policeman pushed her away, "Miss, I fully understand that you are probably not in your right mind now, but what you're doing now is obstruction of justice. Now, if you'd come with us we'll ask you some questions,"

The man in the blue suit signalled for another to take Haeri away.

"No!! You have to listen to me, he didn't kidnap me-- do you fucking understand?! He did! Not! Touch! Me!"

Yoongi watched as the poor girl was dragged into the back of the car, while he stood silently, both hands still cuffed.

There was so much he wanted to say, to explain.

But he couldn't muster a single word.

"So, he took you to his home and held you as hostage, then decided to flee to Daegu after knowing he was nearly exposed?"

Haeri repeated for the fifth time. "He. Did not. Kidnap me."

The cop looked at her with a solemn expression. "Miss, you're free now. Don't be afraid of him anymore and tell us the truth. He won't hurt you anymore."

"How many times do I need to repeat myself? He never kidnapped me, I went with him willingly." She buried her fingers in her hair while slamming her head onto the table.

The man sighed and put his pencil down. "I really don't know why you're trying to cover for that man. You do know that he is still wanted for murder right?"

"He didn't murder the girl! She killed herself!"

"We found her body buried in his garden." The policeman snapped at her. "Listen, I think I might have to send you to a mental clinic if you keep this up."

"I'm not crazy."

"We'll see."

"We are here for the trial case 0982, the murder and kidnapping of Miss Cho Jaeah."

Haeri sat at the far end of the room, watching Yoongi, clad in green, take his seat next to the public defender.

Yoongi was called to the stand, his shoulders drooped as he walked.

"Mr Min admitted to the kidnapping but not the murder, but due to the body being found in his garden, prosecution believes that he killed and buried her after realising police were looking for her."

The prosecutor then continued, "If he didn't kill her, there is a small possibility that he could have an accomplice. Now Mr Min, did you or did you not have a person assisting you in killing her?"

"No, and I've already told you I didn't kill her."

"Your honor, I believe that if he did have an accomplice, it would be Miss Son Haeri, who claimed that she was not kidnapped by Mr Min."

"And why is that?" The judge asked.

"There is a witness that could tell us, therefore I would like to call Miss Jung to the stand."

Haeri stared at the familiar figure who took Yoongi's place at the stand.

It was the lady she bumped into at the rest stop's restroom.

"Miss Jung, you reported that you saw and recognised Miss Son at a rest stop. Did she look like she was escaping from a person?"

"No," she answered, "in fact I saw her enter the van with Mr Min inside."

The prosecutor pointed to the screen. "Here is a video footage of the scene that day."

Haeri clenched her fist and stood up angrily.

"That's a LIE!!"

She stomped up to the stand and grabbed the prosecutor by his shoulders, "No one killed her!! She fucking killed herself DO YOU HEAR ME!!!"

"SECURITY!!" The judge yelled.

"No one killed her...NO ONE KILLED HER!!!"

"Min has been sentenced to five years prison while his suspected partner in crime has been sent to an asylum for treatment. It's suspected that she had lost her mind after being held captive for a month by Min." Yoonji read the paper out loud to her co-workers.

"Oh my... poor Haeri, she must be traumatised."

Haeri slumped on the floor, crying. She truly loved Yoongi, but she couldn't do anything.

Guess this was where their story ended.

Seven years later

Haeri had another tough day at work.

Every day was tough since leaving the asylum, having people think you were insane all the time.

She grabbed a few drinks before she left the bar, and stopped by the roadside, contemplating whether to go back home or go for a walk.

Just then a taxi pulled up next to her.

"Need a lift, miss?"

It was no longer a black haired man, it was mint now, but his gummy smile was unforgettable.

Haeri couldn't hide the grin on her face as she stepped inside, and they disappeared into the dark night, just like seven years ago.
