Christian threw punch after punch, making sure the punching bag would go further away from him each time. He could feel his knuckles hurting, he could feel his muscles clenching, he could feel his breathing harden, he could feel the sweat rolling down his body but he could also feel his heart clenching.
He was used to it. Three days had passed since they were kidnapped and no word from Luca. Christian made sure the guy working for the mob was out on the street, just so they were sure Luca would find him, just so their plan could work.
He had tried everything else. Nothing was working. That was their only hope.
(Martha) "Christian..."
He stopped, grabbing the punching bag so it wouldn't hit him back as he turned his head towards her direction.
(Christian) "Something wrong? Are you okay?"
(Martha) "No... It's just..." – she looked down before she shook her head. – "I feel like I'm losing my mind. Being trapped inside isn't something I've come to love after Stefano and not knowing if Matt's okay, really doesn't help one bit."
Christian sighed, walking to the bench to grab the towel he saved for himself.
(Christian) "I know you must feel like shit..."
(Martha) "I'm guessing you and I are basically on the same page now... But you must be feeling a lot worse than I am. You've known Hannah your whole life. And she's pregnant. I can't even imagine... I'm sorry, Chris." – she said, worried filling her voice. – "I came here because I was feeling sorry for myself and you must feel even worse than me."
He smiled a little.
(Christian) "It's fine, really..."
He walked to her until he was four feet away.
(Christian) "You need to relax. You're pregnant, your mind must be going a thousand miles per second. I know how Anna used to feel when she was pregnant with Marco."
(Martha) "I just... I feel like I need to cry every second."
Christian frowned, but he had a small smile on his lips.
(Christian) "I know what you need..."
She looked at him confused but watched him pull a t-shirt over his bare torso. He grabbed her hand and took her to the living room grabbing a laptop on his way there. He made her sit on one of the couches and he sat down beside her, powering the laptop.
(Martha) "I don't understand."
She watched him go online but finally understood when she saw him opening several online baby stores and start going through the catalogs.
(Martha) "Chris-"
(Christian) "Going through baby stuff always calmed down Hannah..." – he smiled painfully. – "I figured it would calm you down as well."
She smiled and kissed his cheek.
(Martha) "You know, you're not that bad."
He raised his eyebrow playfully.
(Christian) "What is that supposed to mean?"
(Martha) "You come off as this mean guy that can easily scare the toughest man... But I've seen the way you are with Marco and you have been amazing with me even though you must be breaking down inside... So... Thank you, Chris."
He smiled, a genuine one.
(Christian) "It's good to have you here with me. Even though I don't like it, I hate, in fact... having someone that is going through the same thing as you are is good. You don't tell me to stay calm or that we will get them for sure like everyone else does. You don't give the pep talk I fucking hate in times like these. You just... You're just there."
