After Sumin got a call from her mother, she decided to go home. The night was rough and she still had a headache. On her way while she took the bus, she texted her mother in the hope that she had calmed down from her sudden outburst.
Sumin: Let's meet at my place. Sent 03:23 PM
Mom: I'll be there in 15 minutes. Clean the apartment, I got some company. Sent 03:30 PM
Sumin groaned when she was reading her mother's message. She was tired and she didn't want to meet her since her day had already started off not the way the she expected it to be.
Their relationship wasn't at the best point. Her mother got divorced when Sumin was nine years old. She didn't know what happened at the beginning, why the two moved out of the city all of the sudden.
Her father was spending his life with a new woman. He got married and lived with her together in a penthouse, which was obviously not the lifestyle her and her mother were used to. He had a perfect job and a perfect life.
Not like Sumin.
She lived by herself since her mother bought an apartment for her to stay in.
Sumin hated her parents.
They were both cold hearted and selfish. It was like she wasn't even their child. She was like a ray of sunshine in the middle of two lightings in a horrible storm.
Most of the time, Sumin was happy and smiley, but after the divorce she changed. She wasn't the happy girl anymore, she pretended to be all motivated and interested in everything even though inside of her it was dark and lonely.
Everyday, she put on a mask, pretending to be happy and showing everyone that she was living a good life. But when she came back home, that mask would be immediately ripped off her face.
She was all alone.
After the bus stopped, Sumin stepped out of it and made her way to her apartment. Before she could enter the building, she stopped in shock to find one of her close friends.
"Sumin?" Eunji stood in front of the entrance.
"Oh, Eunji. What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to ask you if you could lend me your homework. I forgot mine at school." Eunji eyed her friend up and down.
"Uhm, I didn't do it. I wanted to do it tomorrow." Sumin opened the door so the two could walk to the elevator.
"Where did you come from? I was in front of the door for more like ten minutes." Eunji questioned her friend while she followed her curiously.
"Uh, I was outside. My Mom is going to visit me now." The two stepped into the elevator and waited for it to arrive at the seventh floor.
"Great! I missed your mother!" Eunji said and grinned at her friend.
"You know that she hates you, right?" Sumin laughed and stepped out of the elevator.
"I was being sarcastic, idiot." The two laughed and walked into Sumins apartment.
They took off their jackets and shoes and walked into the living room. Eunji threw herself onto the sofa and groaned loudly as Sumin looked around and saw that the house was a mess. Various cups of take-out foods and empty bottles were lying around, a few shirts and socks crumpled on the ground and around the sofa.
"My Mom will be here soon! We need to clean up!" Sumin hit Eunji and she jumped up.
"Are you sure that you were alone yesterday?" Her friend frowned and got up to help her.
