Max
Ever since the party, things have been a little tense on the field. This didn't go unnoticed by my dad who was trying to keep things in check with everyone. This also caused a huge problem with me.Luke and Marcus were supposed to have my back so the others didn't get carried away like sometimes they did. During one particular practice, they let their issues get the best of them. Because of it, they weren't protecting me and before I knew it, I got tackled by one of the bigger guys on the team.
He hit me so hard that not only did I hit my head, thank god for helmets, but I heard a crunch when I landed. I screamed in pain, "Ahhhhh!"
"Max!" Finn screamed as he ripped off his helmet and ran over to me. Dad followed suit.
I rolled on the ground, holding my arm, crying in pain.
"Someone call 911," dad shouted to them. While he tended to me, Finn went after Marcus and Luke.
"What the hell is wrong with the two of you?"
"Finn, we're sorry," Luke apologized to him.
"Sorry? Look at her! You're supposed to protect her!"
"Come on, Finn, it was an accident," Marcus said defensively.
"Does this look like an accident?" He pointed to me. "Get your shit figured out or you're off the team!" With that, he walked away and jogged over to me.

I was so pissed at the two of them. They were supposed to be protecting Max and because they were so hung up with what's going on between them, they didn't. Now, she was hurt badly because of it.The player that hit her hard, was apologizing profusely. Tom was the biggest guy on the team and the hardest hitter, but off the field, he was the biggest teddy bear. He would never intentionally hurt anyone.
"I'm so, so sorry Max. Please forgive me," he whimpered. See, what I mean?
Max was in too much pain to say anything which only made him feel worse. Wes and I tried to reassure him, but until he heard it from Max, he didn't accept it.
The ambulance arrived and they brought a stretcher. They carefully put her on it and Wes followed them. I walked off the field and went to change so I could go to the hospital.
A half an hour later, I arrived at the hospital and waited in the waiting room. The family could only see her which meant her dad and brothers. This completely sucked.
Eventually, the team arrived and waited as well. We might not be the best players like most schools, but the one thing we had, was a heart.
Her dad finally came out and I stood up quickly. He waved at me and I followed him back.
"They have her in a room," he said quietly.
"What happened?"
"She fractured her arm when Tom tackled her. They said she's going to need surgery because of how it was broken to realign it. This means she's also out for the rest of the season," he said somberly. By his tone, I knew he was worried about her. He wasn't the only one.
I followed him into her room and her brothers were standing there, while she slept on the bed.
"They gave her something for pain, which knocked her out," Wes whispered to me.
I walked over and took a seat next to her bed. I reached over and gently moved the hair off her forehead as she slept. I hated seeing her like this.
"Finn, it will be okay," Aiden reassured me.
"Yeah, Max is a tough nut," Ethan chimed in.
"Although, I wouldn't be too sure about Luke and Marcus when she gets out," Jackson added.
