Chapter 1;; New Beginning
" This man is quickened so with grief. He wanders god-like or like thief. Inside and out, below, above, without relief seeking lost love." -Robert Graves
The gray eyes of the blonde Malfoy heir flew open. He wasn't much of an heir since his family was ridiculed and forced into hiding, but it was a good term to describe his mannerisms. Scorpius silently scoffed inwardly at the narration of himself. It always happened every time he woke up. Scorpius Malfoy was now 20 ½ and resting in a dingy motel. Every day his mind traveled to December 24th of his seventh year at Hogwarts. The day he had left Rose Weasley behind and escaped Azkaban and the sentence that would have most likely awaited him. He had finished up his schooling at Durmstrang, where no one knew him, and had passed with flying colors (Or a hint of suspicion).
The gray eyes strayed to the womanly figure on the couch of his motel room. The only person that could possibly help him besides his father. Emilie Marceau. An escapee herself, Emilie was helping him hide from the Ministry and achieve his current ultimate goal: See Rose again.
"Mmm...Scorpius?" Emilie called as she sat up. She faced him with sleepy eyes. To Scorpius she was definitely attractive, but they were strictly business. Plus, he had no interest in her.
"Yes, Emilie?" Scorpius replied, sitting up himself. Her dark toned body and face turned to face him.
"Are you sure about this?" Emilie asked quietly, running a hand through her raven black hair. She sometimes doubted his plan and pointed out the flaws. "You can't simply waltz back into London."
"Isn't that what I have you for?" Scorpius questioned. He rose to shower and dress. He smirked as Emilie scowled and got up herself. The girl had a risky temper and Scorpius tried to stay on the better side. Especially in the morning.
Rose Weasley woke up and sighed. Another nightmare. Harper and Scorpius had plagued her dreams ever since those eventful days at Azkaban. Living at the Burrow was soothing, but not enough for Rose. She had spent six months at St. Mungo's for the mental damage Harper had given her, but it seemed to be having a reverse effect.
"Woe-eee!" a gurgling toddler's voice was heard through her bedroom door. Rose smiled at her routine wake up call by Teddy and Victoire's three year old daughter, Clara. She wasn't good at her R's or G's but her attempts were charming. Rose stood and opened the door to capture the toddler in her arms. Like Teddy, her hair went pink as she squealed with laughter.
"Morning Clara." Rose greeted, kissing her niece's cheeks.
"Mowing Woe-ee!" Clara screeched as she pulled at Rose's shoulder length hair.
"My apologies Rose if she woke you up." Victoire stated as she climbed the stairs. She radiated with happiness and it fit well with her current rounded body.
"When is he due again?"Rose asked.
Victoire grinned, "two months from today. Teddy doesn't know its a boy yet."
Rose smiled. She and Victoire had somehow grown closer over the last few years with Victoire's perpetual worrying.
Once they had checked out of the hotel under false muggle names, they started their day in a taxi.
"Where are we going?" Scorpius asked once they were settled in the taxi.
"We're taking the ferry into England." Emilie stated. They were in France but not far from la mer. Or sea.
Scorpius nodded. She would probably explain more once they were in England. Like she said, they couldn't just waltz into London.
Two and a half hours later, Emilie and Scorpius were in a helicopter above the countryside near London.
"Ready to jump?" Emilie yelled over the whirring of the helicopter.
"What?!" Scorpius yelled back.
"Jump when I say so!" Emilie yelled as she replaced her headset with a helmet. The guys that had taken them up started helping him suit up. Scorpius gulped as he gazed down from the open door. He temporarily feared for his life.
"Its safe." Emilie said with a grin. She squeezed his hand before pushing him out and quickly following.
Rose had taken up working at the Leaky Cauldron on the weekends. To keep herself busy of course. On weekdays in the winter and summer, she worked in the Department of Mysteries. In the fall and spring she played for the Holyhead Harpies. Very much in season.
"Oi Rose! Table five wants more firewhiskeys." Kyle, the young bar owner called. The previous owner had died of a heart attack two years ago. Kyle was his son.
"Alright!" Rose yelled back. She wiped her mouth and continued from behind the bar. She had just started lunch. Kyle knew that.
"Don't look at me like that, miss." Kyle told her without looking up. He always had an uncanny knowledge of when someone was making some sort of face at him.
Rose picked up the firewhiskeys and moved them to the table. "No problem." She replied to the group before bouncing back to sit in the kitchen with the chef.
Scorpius wanted to puke after their shaky landing. Emilie was running purely on adrenaline and laughing like a mad woman.
"Don't you feel excellent, cher?" Emilie said with a grin. He had never seen her so animated.
"No I don't." Scorpius replied blatantly. Emilie shook her head as she took his suit and other gear to stuff them with hers in a concealed trunk.
"They'll find it later. I believe I know where your woman is." Emilie said before they apparated into an alley, a block away from the Leaky Cauldron. "There. She's in there."
"The Leaky Cauldron? Are you aware of how many witches and wizards that place is crawling with?" Scorpius demanded as a frown creased his face. The burning desire to see Rose once more grew stronger and he grunted in distaste. They could get caught and sent immediately to Azkaban. Emilie especially.
"Then you don't see your lost amour." Emilie pointed out, "There's not many chances you find a lost love, Scorpius."
"Fine. We'll go in." Scorpius replied. After all, Emilie was wise in things like this. They walked in casually and Emilie picked a booth close to the bar and stairs that led to the Inn.
"Rose! More costumers in your section. Just walked in." Kyle called with a grin. Rose shot him a scowl before licking her fingers clean of the chocolate cake she had managed to snatch. She rinsed them in the sink before walking out.
"What can I get you, two?" Rose asked as she started making note of the time. She looked up and froze. Scorpius Malfoy had weaseled his way back into her life again.
A/N: Ah...its good to be rollin' again(:
