Chapter Nine

Alex's POV
It's been 3 weeks and I'm already miserable. We have a doctors appointment later but I don't want to get out of bed. I haven't seen Hercules or Lafayette recently so Tommy and I need to talk to them later. "Mornin' Lexi" I smile at him. " Good morning Tommy. Have you talked to your brother or Herc recently? I haven't seen them in a while." I look up at my super tall fiancé. "I'll text Laf. Then we can pick out a show to watch until we have to go. Does that sound good darlin'?" I nod and make myself a bowl of cereal. I look at my microscopic baby bump. I can't wait for you to get here I think as I eat my bowl of cereal. Thomas comes back with an exausted looking couple. Laf is sleeping in Herc's arms as Herc sits to watch TV with us and explain what's going on. Laf groans in  pain and Herc looks terrified. "Is everything okay with him?" I ask. Herc looks at me, I can see the bags under his eyes. Poor guy.

Here's POV
I hear Laffy groan in pain as he shifts. Poor thing, I should never had agreed to this. I discreetly check his stitches. They seem perfectly fine but it doesn't keep me from being terrified. "Is everything okay with him?" Alex asks and I nod quietly. I set Laf down on the couch and motion for Alex to follow me to the kitchen. Thomas went into his room as we came in and finally left, to see Laf laying on the couch in pain. I wave him over and explain what's going on. " Lafayette wanted to have a baby and suggested a surrogate. We looked but didn't find any, until we saw a surgery that would allow Lafayette to conceive and carry a child. I was hesitant at first but Laf really wanted a baby. Here we are now. I have to check his stitches every hour and make he is comfortable. He's still in pain after the surgery. He's lucky I can't say no to him or we would have just adopted." I tell them. I hear a muffled " Herc..." from the couch. I run over to Laffy and hold him wanting  this part to be over quickly.
