Niklaus and I walked across the quarry, trees surrounding the open area. As we grew closer to the site of the ritual, I could see three circles of fire. Jules in the first, Jenna in the second, and Elena in the third. "Greta, witches are supposed to maintain the balance in nature. It's your duty to them to keep this curse sealed." I heard Elena say as we reached them.

"My duty is to Klaus! The new order." Greta said with defiance.

"Glad to know I still have a dance partner," Niklaus said making our presence known. He locked eyes with Jenna, Jules, and then finally landed on Elena,"Hello, my lovelies. Are we ready?" Energy rushed through my veins as Greta started to prepare for the sacrifice, a thousand years of waiting will finally be over soon.

Niklaus walked over to the stone platform that Greta was standing on and took the moonstone out of his jacket pocket. "I've got the moonstone. I spent 500 years looking for this. I hate to part with it." He said handing it to her.

Greta looked up to the sky. "The moon has passed its apex. Remember everything you need to do?"

"I remember." I turned my focus back to the three rings of fire. Jules was moaning in pain, the urge to shift was too powerful. Thankfully Niklaus gave me a ring a few centuries ago that allows me to shift whenever I want.

"Why are you siding with him Vanessa? I thought you were with us." Elena said.

"I was never really trying to help you Elena," I said getting as close as possible to her without getting burned,"I've been on his side this entire time." Her mouth went open at this shocking news. I guess Damon and Alaric forgot to fill her in.

"Please Vanessa, don't let him do this. He's going to kill me and Jenna, she doesn't deserve any of this." She pleaded. I did feel a bit guilty about Jenna but Elena's been a thorn in my side ever since I got here.

Our attention shifted to Niklaus as he approached Jules. "Shall we?" The ring of fire around her decreased and she rushed at Niklaus, her eyes turning yellow. He grabbed her neck and pinned her to the ground, immediately ripping out her heart. Jules let out one final breath as a single tear streamed down the side of her face. Niklaus stood up with the bloody heart in his hand, Elena and Jenna were mortified.

"Is it working?" I asked Greta. Niklaus squeezed the blood out of Jules' heart and it fell into the metal bowl.

"It's working." She chanted the spell causing the bowl to go up in flames. Niklaus dropped the heart on the ground and we walked over to Jenna.

"Hello, Jenna." Both of the girls got up to face Niklaus.

"Let her go. I understand that I have to die, but she doesn't!" Elena walked up to the ring of fire, causing it to flare up. She quickly stepped back, not wanting to be burned.

"Be careful." I said in a sing-song voice.

"Elena, don't." Her aunt didn't want her to cause any more trouble.
