Chapter 9
*Two Months Later - Now August*
Y/N POV
You have been dating for two months now and things were going smoothly until the internet found out. You wake up one morning with hundreds of DMs and text asking about you and Jack's relationship. You were confused because Jack and you had decided to keep your relationship secret until you felt it was the right time to tell the fans. You had been nervous about how the fans would react. You open up your phone and look through your feed. You see that overnight a picture had been leaked of you and Jack kissing at a private beach. You go downstairs to look for Jack and talk about what to do. You find him eating breakfast with the boys.
"Hey Jack... can I talk to you...?" You ask nervously.
"Sure." He answers confused.
You walk outside and sit by the pool.
"Have you looked at your phone lately?" You ask.
"Not this morning, no. Why?" He asks concerned. He takes his phone out of his pocket and sees and the DMs and pictures.
"How did someone get this picture?" He asks confused.
"I guess they took it secretly while we were sitting on the beach. What should we do? We can't lie to them."
"I guess we have to confirm the rumors. Is that okay?" He asks.
"Ya its fine." You say.
"I will post a photo and ask for no hate. I just want to warn you that you will get some because there are some mean people. Just remember I love you."
"That's all that matters to me." You answer, smiling.
Jack's POV
When Y/N came downstairs and told me about what happened overnight, my heart sank. I knew this would happen eventually, but I always imagined Y/N and I keeping our relationship a secret. However, with our number of fans growing, in the back of my mind, I knew it was impossible.
Y/N POV
When we had both decided that revealing our relationship was the best thing to do, we posted a picture of us together, your hand shaking as you hit 'share'. The minute you set my phone down in my lap, it began buzzing like crazy. You look over at Jack, and he was smiling, his phone also going insane. You held hands and sat in silence.
*A few hours later*
After setting your phone's down for three hours, you and Jack decide it was time to see what the reactions online were like. You pick yours up and you scroll through the messages on your lock screen. There are thousands of them. As you unlock your phone and open Instagram, you realize you have gained over ten thousand followers, and it's increasing by the moment. You open the picture of you and Jack and scroll through the comments. Some are awful, with people writing about how ugly you are and that you should break up. Some were really nice, talking about how they support your relationship completely. You sigh. However, Jack wasn't as lucky.
Jack's POV
The moment I picked up my phone and looked through the first few comments, I knew things were going to get ugly quick. On my post, there were thousands of angry comments, but also a good amount of supportive ones. I looked over at Y/N. By the expression on her face, I could tell she was a little overwhelmed. I took the phone out of her hands.
"Maybe this wasn't a good idea to look at the comments so soon..." I said slowly.
"No..." She answered. "I think we need to practice getting used to these. I mean, we knew this was going to happen going in, so why are we surprised?" She smiled nervously. I sighed. She was right. I had a feeling this was going to change her though.
Hope you like it!
