Season 2 Chapter 10

Daniel's POV

I was just about to turn down the hallway when I saw Jack sitting outside the door. I had a feeling this wasn't going to be a comfortable conversation. He cleared his throat.

"So..how long have you um, liked her?" He asked, not meeting my eyes. I didn't know what to say. Did I tell the truth and tell him I'd liked her since the beginning? I was about to lie when Jack cut me off. "I'm not mad at you." He said.

"Really?" I was surprised.

"Yeah. I mean, it's not your fault...just as long as you don't make a move." He said.

"Of course..I would never." I replied immediately.

"Ok...then I guess there's nothing left to talk about. I'm going to go see her." He walked into her room.

Y/N's POV

You hear Daniel's footsteps walk out of the room, but they stop as he meets another voice. You can't quite make out who it is. You slowly get out of the bed and put your head to the wall so you can hear better. It's Jack! You consider going out to see him, but you decide to let them talk. It's best if you stay out of the way. As they're talking you realize that they don't act as though they're best friends. They're voices are stiff and awkward, like no one knows what to say. You realize as long as you're with Jack, nothing will ever be the same between them. It makes you feel awful. Then you remember that they're missing tour dates for you, and now you're impacting their career. Your head is spinning. How much are they really sacrificing for you?

You try to think of a solution as you walk back to your bed, but you realize you're ignoring the only effective one. You need to be removed from Jack's life. You don't need to be his girlfriend. You could be the girl he comes home to, to hang out with... as friends.You need to set things straight with Jack, with the whole band.
