An Undeniable Love (A Delena Story)

-Elena's POV-
Dear Diary,
Today is the first day of my senior year. I hope this year is better then the last. I will always miss my parents but I wont act like a sad little girl anymore. I'm grateful for Aunt Jenna, Jeremy need a good parent figure which I can't give him. Stefan, Caroline, Jeremy, Jenna, and Bonnie will be the things pushing me to get through this year. I'll write here as much as possible.

I slowly open my nightstand drawer and place it inside, I look down at it for a moment as I take a deep breath and shut the drawer. I walk over to my mirror and look into it, "You can do this Elena." I whisper as I stare myself down. I then walk away from the mirror and grab my backpack and phone. I watch as my phone screen lights up from a text from Stefan, " I'm outside." I take a deep breath and shove my phone into my pocket and walk downstairs. "Bye Jenna!" I shout before walking out the door and to Stefan's car. I quickly get inside and smiles slightly towards Stefan as I shut the car door. Stefan looks over at me and smiles brightly. "Hey, are you ready for today?" he continues to smile at me.

I sigh and shake my head "No, but I will have to push myself through today." He starts the car and pulls back onto the road, "I'll be there to help you, I promise. Caroline and Bonnie are here for you too, whatever you need to get you through today. Okay?" He slightly turns his head towards me and smiles. I look over at him and smile again, "Thank you, I really appreciate this."

A short while after we arrive at the school. I quickly step out of Stefan's car and walk inside of the school with him. As soon as we reach out lockers, Caroline is running over to us. "Elena!" she shouts and pulls me into a tight hug.

Caroline is a very perky girl, she's always happy. She can get a little annoying sometimes, but I will always love her. She's a great friend.

I quickly respond and hug her back. "Hey Care." I pull away from her and smile. "How are you doing?" she quickly responds. I just shrug a little before responding, "I'm doing okay, I just want to get through today.". She nods at me, basically agreeing to what I said as Bonnie takes her turn and hugs me. I of course, hug her back and smile. I quickly thought to myself how nice this was just to be around some of the people I love most, the people I care about most. "Thank you guys." I pull away and look at everyone. "This is what I need."

In the next few hours I get through a few of my classes. As it was lunch time I met Caroline,Bonnie, and Stefan outside. I walked over and sat next to the in the grass and pulled out my water bottle as I began to join into their conversation. I drank from my water bottle as I listened to them, not really wanting to talk that much. I figured they noticed as they all just stared at me. "What?" I laugh a little and scan them. "Your just very quiet." Stefan says and crosses his arms. " I know.." I pause for a moment, "I geuss i'm just not ver talkative today." I look at Stefan slightly before looking down. Caroline speaks up, "Hey, you have every right to be Elena, your parents died." I look over at her and nod "I love you guys." I smile a little and look a three of them in the eyes. "And we love you too." Stefan says as a wide smile spreads across his face.

A few minutes later Caroline looks over at me, "Are you still going to the bonfire tonight?" she crosses her legs as she waits for my response. I nod, "Yeah I think I will. It will take my mind off things." I smile at her. "Only if you promise me I have loads of fun, and maybe get a little drunk." A wide smile spread across Carolines face "Deal!" she laughs as I begin to laugh with her.

After school I meet Stefan by his car. "I'm here!" I say as I walk over to him. He unlocks the doors then both of us getting inside. I look over at him as he pulls out of the school parking lot, "Will you pick me up tonight for the bonfire?" He hesitates for a moment before replying, "Uh I might be a little late to that tonight." He focuses his eyes on the road. "Wait why?" I raise my eyebrows out of curiosity. "I have something to do tonight, so I don't want you guys to wait up."

"But tell me why Stefan." I cross my arms. "My brother comes home tonight." I think for a moment, he's never mentioned anything about a brother to me. "Wait what? You've never said anything about him!" He glances over at me, "Because he's different Elena, he's quiet and can be selfish. He may be very fucking smart but that doesn't make him any less of a douche." He puts his eyes back onto the road. I can tell he's a little angry that I sorta pushed him to tell me. "Well what makes him so bad?" I know he's angry but I still want to know more. "He's hurt a lot of people in his life, he may be an FBI agent but he still can be a very bad person, on and off the job." He parks the car in front of my house and turns to me. "His name is Damon, I love him, I always will but I hate him for hurting people to get what he wants. It's not right Elena. But he says he wants to change as a person, but I don't know if I should believe him or if I can help him change." I nod in agreement "I agree with you Stefan, but give him a chance to change, i'm sure he's capable of it." I smile slightly. " I'm not sure Elena.." he pauses for a moment. "But I told him I would give him a chance. He's hurt me too, he always pushed me around, playfully or not." I quickly pull him into a hug "I will be here for you, like you've been there for me all summer. I promise."
