Elena's POV
I lay in my bed that morning, wide awake. It's a sunday morning so it's not like much is going on today. I glance over at my alarm clock to check the time, 8:07, still pretty early. I haven't heard any movement around the house all morning. I decided to make a move and throw the covers off my body. I sit up, my feet dangling over the edge of the bed. I rub the back of my neck, and instantly think of Stefan and when we kissed. I couldn't help but think, was he really someone I could see myself with? He's been my best friend since we were little, it's never been imaginable for me, ever, I feel as though he's simply been only like a brother to me, but maybe I was wrong. My mind just couldn't decide if I felt something for Stefan. I stopped thinking and pushed myself up off the bed. I grab my phone and text Caroline "meet me at the brew?" Maybe she can help me, or at least I hope she can. But of course she replys to me instantly "Of course! Be there soon" I let out a sigh of relief, let's find out if my hope is true.

Awhile later me and Caroline are settled down at our table. We haven't really said anything since we sat down, since I really don't what to say right now. I can feel Caroline's eyes strain me down as she sits across from me, and suddenly I hear her draw in a breath to start talking, "So Elena," she starts, "Why did you want me to meet you here?" I bite my lip and blurt out, "Me and Stefan kissed!" I knew at that instant I may of said it a bit loud but hey, I said it. I always knew in the back of my mind Caroline liked Stefan, even though she's never admitted it to me, or probably herself. She looks at me a bit startled.
"Wait Elena are you serious?" I nod slightly, "It sorta just happened after the party, when he drove me home."
"Wow Elena, do you uh fee something for him?" I could tell she didn't want to ask that, but she did it anyway. I just shook my head, I didn't know if I did or didn't, something was just clouding my thoughts and I couldn't figure it out.
"I have no idea, something feels off about it, I can't figure it out. We've known him for like forever Caroline, its hard for me to tell what I feel at this point. It felt okay in the moment but right now i'm not so sure."
She shrugs at me, "Maybe you should talk to Stefan yourself. Maybe something or even someone is holding you back."
"Yeah your probably right, I don't think it's who, but it's definitely what. I should probably get going, but thank you for meeting me Care." I stand up from my seat as she does and we pull into a tight hug. "Good luck" She says, then we pull apart and go our separate ways. I make my way over to a separate exit. I push the door open and bump into a tall brooding figure.
"Oh my god!" I say as I begin to fall, but a strong grasp grabs my waist and keeps me up. "Thank you." I finally get the chance to look up and see Damon. Oh wow, I look right into his bright blue eyes. "I'm sorry, I wasn't really looking where I was going."
He smirks at me before letting me go and walking past me,making his way down the street. I instantly turn around, not really realizing myself that I am.
"Hey wait!" I shout at Damon, wait why did I do that? I had no idea but I asked myself that many times. He stops in his tracks as he hears my voice. I run toward him, again not realizing why I am. "You could've said hi you know?" I instantly blurt out.
He cocks his head at me a bit angrily. "Why would I do that?" he asks
"Because you know me?"
"Hardly." he scoffs.
"That doesn't matter."
"Kind of does Elena." Wow, he actually remembered my name. "Anyways, shouldn't you be with Stefan? Seems like you two are inseparable." he says, crossing his arms.
"Just because we are close does mean we are together all the time does it?"
"No I guess it doesn't. Goodbye now Elena." He turns away from me once again, he seems like he's on some sort of mission. I once again run after him, i'm still trying to figure him out. I grab his arm, trying to maintain a good grip. He turns his head to look into my brown eyes with his blue ones.
"May I ask what your doing?"
"Looks like you did."
"Yeah I did." He try's to shake my hand off him but I maintain my grip.
"Where are you going?" I ask him.
"Why does it matter to you?"
"I'm just wondering."
"I'm going to my car, happy?"
"Yes actually. Can I ask you something?"
"What?" I can sense some anger in his voice, probably from all of my questions.
"Can you give me a ride home?" I actually walked to the grill to clear my mind, didn't really work for me.
He lets out a sigh, "Yes, if you promise to let go of my arm."
I smile "Deal." I softly let go of his arm, "Lead the way."
