That next morning I woke up with Braxton still sound asleep beside me and Damon still sitting up looking out the window to his left.
I slightly stirred in bed rubbing my tired eyes as I relived last nights events. "Damon?" I said groggily and his head dropped to look at me.
"Good morning." He said with a slight smile. I glanced down at Braxton who was pressed against Damon's side.
"Damon what's going on?"
His hooded eyes stared down at me. "Elena." He said almost as a warning.
"Damon something in that restaurant last night spooked you. I've never seen you like that."
"Everything's gonna be okay that's all you need to worry about."
"No! Just stop!" I said as my voice raised and Braxton stirred beside me. "Everything doesn't seem okay."
He sighed and rubbed his eyes. "I said once you forgave me." He reminded.
"It's a little late for that. Somethings obviously going on that I need to know about."
"No because once I tell you you're going to blame yourself and I won't let you do that. Then you will feel the need to forgive me right then and there. I want you to forgive me on your own time."
I pushed the covers off of me and crawled out of the bed. "I had a good time last night." I commented before disappearing into the bathroom.
After I did my business I emerged from the bathroom to find Damon talking with Braxton in the bed.
I smiled at them both as they both climbed out of bed. "I'll get him some breakfast, let you get ready."
They both left the room, closing the door behind them. I went to my dresser and dug out a pair of jeans and a tank top, quickly throwing them on.
I headed downstairs and found the both of them sitting at the table as Braxton munched on a bowl of cereal.
"Hey boys." I said as I joined them in the living room.
"Hi mom!" Braxton said before taking another bite of his cereal. I placed a kiss to the top of his head before grabbing a water from the fridge.
I glanced over at Damon who was trying not to fall asleep at the table as he watched Braxton.
I walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. His eyes looked up and into my own. "Go get some sleep." I whispered to him to be unbeknownst to Braxton.
He shook his head and returned his gaze back towards Braxton.
"Come here for a moment." I said, grabbing his hand to lead him over to the living room.
"Go get some rest Damon."
"I'm fine Elena seriously." He said before trying to return to the dining room, but I grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Damon i'm serious. Yours eyes are bloodshot and you can't keep them open."
He gave me a stern look. "I can't."
"Yes you can. What ever your worried about shouldn't keep you from getting a regular human need."
"Well it's going to."
"What can I do to get you to go upstairs and get some sleep."
"Kiss me." He whispered but I could tell it was a joke. Even though I knew it was a joke it didn't stop me from pressing my lips softly against his. He reacted quickly and kissed me back, placing his hands against my waist.
