Stefan's POV
I woke up that next morning after what happened with Damon the night before. A lot more was starting to make sense to me, especially with Damon. Maybe me finding out what has happened to him will bring us closer together as brothers. But I also finally admitted to myself I felt something for Elena, I knew it was there all along I think I was just so scared to admit it. I just kept thinking, should I tell her? It could end good or bad for me. She could feel the same, or totally reject me and things would become very awkward between us. As these thoughts circled through my head, I got up and out of bed so I could get ready for school. Today was friday and another party was going on, which I was going to with Elena. Maybe this could be a good time? or maybe not. I looked at my alarm clock that set on my nightstand beside my bed, it was already seven thirty, I was basically late to pick up Elena. I rushed outside and to my car then drive as fast as I could to Elena's. I saw her house in my view and sped down the road. As I pulled up in front of her house, my tires made a very loud squeaking noise, I think Elena definitely heard that. I looked to my side and saw Elena dash out of her front door. She quickly opened the passenger side door, "Your late!" she said as she slammed the door "Your lucky I love you." she said as she let out a faint laugh. I just smiled at her as I drove quickly to the high school.
Elena's POV
A few minutes into Stefan driving us to school, I could already tell something was weird or something was going on with him. "Okay Stefan no lying now. What's going on? Something is off with you today." I said as I turned down the radio. He's eyebrow arched a little, "What? Nothings wrong Elena." I heard a faint gulp in his throat. "Liar." I said, crossing my arms. "You really need to get better at lying, or just stop doing it. Now tell me Stefan, what is wrong with you?" His eyes glanced at me for a moment, "It's not my place to tell, but I will say that things have changed between me and Damon now." He sighed a little as he parked in the school parking lot. He suddenly took my hands in his which instantly made me bite the bottom of my lip slightly. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with me Elena." He dropped my hands, "So stop worrying." He got out of the car then waited for me to get out, then locked it. We walked into school together then went to our classes for the day.

At the end of the day, I did what I do almost every day, waited by Stefan's car for him. I know this morning he told me nothing was wrong but I still felt like something was. I didn't want to ask him again, so I decided to just let it go for now. I'm happy for him that him and Damon are kinda close or coming to some sort of understanding. He didn't say much but that's what I got from it. I saw Stefan come out of the doors then walking over to me and unlocking his car. "Ready for the party?" I asked as we both got into his car. He smiled, "Of course I am. I get to spend the night with you." I instantly smiled, he was good at making me smile, and I loved that. I was happy I had him as my friend.

Hours later me and Stefan were sitting in my room waiting to go to the party. I was still in my bathroom making sure I looked okay. I walked out of the bathroom and did a little twirl, "Do I look good Stef?"
Stefan's POV
I watched her as she did her little twirl as she asked me the question she asks me every time we go to a party together, "Just like every other time Elena, you look amazing." I stood up from her windowsill ledge "No lets go hot shot." I said as I handed her her coat that was laying on her bed "Thank you," she said, smiling wide. I led her out to my car and opened her door for her, like always.

As we arrived at the party, it already was started up and people were flooding into the Lockwood mansion. As Elena and I walked inside we got ourselves drinks and just talked to some of our friends. I didn't like to leave Elena alone for long cause she always drinks so fast and gets buzzed and or drunk very easily. I never drank much just cause I wanted her to stay out of as much trouble as possible. As I found her a little while later of course, she was already drunk. I walked over to her, she was just dancing in the corner alone. "Stefan!" she yelled and ran over to me, almost tripping. "Careful." I whispered as I immediately wrapped my arm around her waist so she wouldn't fall. "Maybe we should go home." she stuck her bottom lip out at me, "But i'm having fun!" I shook my head and laughed "I can tell Elena, but your drunk off your ass so i'm taking you home. So don't fight me on this." she nodded her head at me as I lead her to my car.
Elena's POV
As little drunk me was settled into Stefan's car my currently messed up mind was still trying to put the pieces together as to what was wrong with Stefan, and I think I figured it out. I figured it out when he caught me from falling onto my ass. As usual, he wrapped his arm around me to catch me, but usually he pulls it away as soon as he does, tonight, he did the opposite. He left it on my waist. I figured it out, he liked me! And my big fat mouth blurted it out as soon as we were settled into his car. "You like me." I said as I stared at my folded hands that rested in my lap. I wasn't gonna lie I did like Stefan when we were younger, but i'm not sure if I do now. He instantly turned his body towards me after I said this. "Huh?"
I looked into his eyes, "I figured it out, you like me Stefan." He looked away for a moment then looked right back into my eyes. "I think I always have Elena." And at the moment, I wanted to test if I liked him or not. I leaned over the middle console in his car and crashed my lips onto his. They were soft, and melted with mine. It was there, I could feel something for him, but they weren't very strong feelings, but I didn't care. His hands instantly were on my lower back as mine were placed on his neck. I pulled away for a moment and just thought to myself, even if these feelings weren't strong, something was still there. And i'm gonna explore whatever I was feeling for Stefan, no matter what happened.
