I follow Damon up the street, seeing his bright blue Convertible come into view. I've seen it once since he's came into town, and a few times around town.
"I forgot you had such a nice car, i've always liked Convertibles."
"How'd you know I drove one?" he asked me as he grabbed his keys from his pocket, unlocking the car.
"Damon did you forget your brother is my bestfriend? I've seen it at the house since you've came to town."
"Yeah, right." he nods his head as he opens the drivers door, climbing inside his car. I climb in after he does.
"Thank you for bringing me home."
"It's fine. But uh don't tell Stefan, he'd get mad at the both of us if he found out we were alone."
"Look Damon Stefan told me about your past with your father. I don't think Stefan would be that mad, he's trying to be nice and get to know the real you. You should really give him a chance too, your relationship with him can't be one sided."
"I know that, I tried a year or two ago, but he still would believe me that i've became a different person. If anyone isn't committed to trying to be brothers, it's Stefan." he quietly snaps back at me as he starts his car up. "I'm sorry, I still tend to snap sometimes, but i've always had that problem."
"It's fine, just because you've changed doesn't mean all of your qualities are good now. But I promise you i'm pushing Stefan to talk and get to know you."
"Thank you Elena, I appreciate it." I smile and nod at him slightly squeezing his arm. Instantly I felt it, the feeling I felt in my stomach as I touched his bare skin. I knew it was bad instantly so I moved my hand back into my lap. I can't feel anything for him, he's Stefan's brother, and Stefan likes me, as more then a friend now. I can't do that to him, especially with his brother.
"Have you talked to Stefan today? I haven't had the chance to."
"He was at home when I left."
"Oh will you just take me there then? I'm sure Stefan can take me home later."
"Yeah sure, I was headed home anyway." I smile at him again before looking outside through the window.
"Was something up with Stefan? He seemed different when he came home last night after bringing you home."
"Uh not that I know of, he hasn't told me." I knew why he was different, he kissed me, he was probably jumping with joy inside. But I had know idea how Stefan would feel if I told Damon, and anyways I wasn't sure if I wanted Damon to know anyway.
"I guess we will have to try and get it out of him."
I nod at him, "Are we getting close?"
"Almost there."
A few minutes later Damon drives his car into the garage. "Thank you for the ride." He nods his head at me before disappearing inside the house. I take a deep breath and walk inside the house. I came here because I wanted to talk to Stefan about our kiss, I want to know where we go from here. I make my way upstairs to Stefan's room. His door his cracked open slightly, I push it open, peering my head inside? "Stefan!" No answer. I walk inside the room, looking around. I hear the shower running. I walk over to his bed, sitting down on the edge. A few moments later I hear the shower shut off. Then there's Stefan walking out of the bathroom, his towel hanging around his hips.
"Jeez Elena." he says, startled.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." I stand up from the bed. "I'd hug you but your wet."
He laughs, "Let me get dressed, i'm assuming you want to talk."
I nod, "Take your time." I smile and fall back onto his bed. I wait a few minutes before Stefan re-emerges from the bathroom. I sit back up, biting my lip. "Okay now I can hug you." he laughs again before I wrap my arms around his neck. "Is it possible to miss you even though I saw you yesterday?" he whispers into my ear.
I laugh quietly, "It's possible, yeah."
He kisses my cheek before we both pull away from each other. "Okay we probably should talk now." he says smiling. "I don't regret last night Elena. I don't wanna lie to you so i'm just gonna tell the truth. I've liked you for awhile now."
I stare at him for a moment, scared of what this might mean for us. We've always been best friends, it will be hard for me to see him as something different.
"Elena?" I snap out of my thoughts, "Sorry." I rub my forehead. "I'm sorry, you don't like me back do you?"
"Stefan it's not that, I promise. It's just difficult, we've always been best friends. But I don't want to say this." I move myself closer to him. "I did feel something when you kissed me. So i'm willing to see where this will go."
"Really?" he asks me, his eyes getting bigger as he smiles at me. I nod at him and smile back.
"I'm going to kiss you again." he says as he pulls him into him by my hips. He presses his lips to mine, and I kiss him back. I wrap me arms around his neck, standing on my tippy toes to deepen the kiss. We kiss like that for a few minutes before he pulls away from me.
"Can I take you on a date tonight?"
I smile, "Of course, what time will you pick me up?"
"How does six sound?"
"That's good for me, but may I ask for a ride home? I actually walked to the grill before I came here. I saw Damon and asked him to bring me here, and he did."
"Of course I will." He smiles. "But Damon willingly gave you a ride here?"
"Yeah I mean I asked him to give me a ride home then I wanted to talk to you, so he just brought me home with you."
"Oh." Was what he managed to get out.
"Stefan don't be mad."
"I'm not just surprised I guess, Damon never did anything for anyone."
"He's changed Stefan." I say smiling, pecking his lips softly. He smiles back at me, "Okay lets take you home."
