~Taylor's POV~
I walked in the house when I was finally done cooking. I washed my hands and then called all the kids to the picnic table to eat. All the kids ran and started grabbing their food. I walked over to the cooler and handed each one a juice box and I was going inside the house. I found Hayes, Acacia, Cameron, and Lexi sitting down and talking. I joined them and sat behind Acacia.
"Food is done."
"Okay." Everyone said in sync.
We all walked to the back and started grabbing what we wanted to eat. I saw Nash walk up to us but I ignored him. We took our plates and sat on the other side of the patio. I sat next to Acacia and kept taking food from her plate.
"Taylor. Quit eating my food."
"I can't you grabbed what I couldn't fit on my plate. Plus we both know your not gonna eat it all." I told her.
"Fine. Just eat." She smiled.
"So Taylor how many kids do you want?" asked Cameron.
"Three and a half."
"A half?" Lexi asked confused.
"I want three kids and one on the way by the time I'm 28."
"Oh. Acacia are you okay with that?"
"We've talked about it. I do want kids but I don't know how many."
"That's exactly what you told me when I asked you that when we were dating." Cameron said.
"Are you two planning on having more kids?" I asked.
"Maybe one more."
We talked about our lives and just joked around the whole time. We were having fun just the four of us.
~Nash's POV~
I grabbed a plate of food and sat down with everyone. It got a bit quiet and then everyone else started talking again. I looked at Acacia but she never looked back at me. I felt like an awkward whale. When I finished I got up.
"Acacia. Can we um talk?"
"We can talk right here."
"I mean privately."
"Taylor I'll be back." She said as she got up off the bench.
We walked to the other side of the yard and stood there. I looked at Acacia. She just stared at me.
"Why have you been ignoring me?" I asked.
"I don't want any old feelings to come back! I just. I knew if I looked at you for to long I would fall for those blue sparkling eyes again. And I don't want that. I'm happy with Taylor. I don't want to ruin it with him."
"And? That's so bad? We were in love Acacia." I told her.
"I get that Nash! But we aren't anymore! Get over just like I had too!"
"I can't get over you! Don't you understand that!!!"
"Do not yell at me! Its your sister's day for crying out loud! There doesn't need to be any drama today!" She said as she walked away.
I watched her leave and saw a body looking at me from the corner of my eye. I turned my head and saw Skylynn with her hands on her hips. She shook her head and walked past me and straight to Acacia. I saw her hug Sky and whisper in her ear. Skylynn nodded and walked back to her friends. Was my eight year old sister turning on me too?
~Acacia's POV~
I walked away and sat back down. I felt a small hand touch my shoulder and I turned to see Skylynn. There were tears in her eyes. I hugged her and asked what was wrong.
"Nash is being mean. And he's scaring my friends away." She said in almost complete tears.
"Shhh. Its okay. Don't cry Sky. Look Nash is having a bad day today. I just want you to have fun and ignore everyone else besides your friends. Its your day today and its not going to be ruined. Go have fun. I'll be here all night."
"Will you and Taylor stay tonight?"
"Yeah. Just go have fun and I'll call you when its time for cake and ice cream. Okay?"
"Okay." She said as she nodded her head and hugged me before leaving.
"Babe. Sky wants us to stay the night tonight. I told her we would."
"Alright." He said.
"Acacia? Taylor was saying the two of you live close to the beach. Is it nice?" Lexi asked.
"Oh its beautiful. Our house has four bedrooms. One is Skylynn's and the other is Hayes'. Then there's our room and we have a guest room. You guys are more than glad to stay with us. Just not tonight were staying here." I told her.
"That would be amazing. We were just going to stay in a hotel." Cameron butted in.
"We'd love to have company. Skylynn and Hayes only come on the weekends."
"Wait why does Nash's siblings go to your house?"
"Mama Grier likes time to herself so we take them and sometimes they just want to come over. We love having them. They make the house come to life."
"How cute. So since everyone left you two have been taking over?"
"Yeah. Mam Grier just needs some help and since Nash isn't in town anymore and she needs as much as she can get."
"You are just to sweet!"
"Taylor? Acacia? Do you want to do cake and ice cream first or presents?" asked Mama Grier.
"Cake!" Hayes said.
"Cake."
"Okay mind calling all of the kids?"
"Okay everyone its time for cake and ice cream so come and gather around the table. Skylynn you sit in the princess chair."
We got everyone situated and made sure they were all sitting down. We started singing 'Happy Birthday' while Mama Grier brought out the cake. Considering Skylynn is a princess the cake was a picture of her in a crown and smiling with the caption, Happy 8th Birthday Princess Skylynn.
She saw her cake and her eyes widen her mouth dropped and a little scream escaped her mouth. She was so excited. After everyone ate we told them not to leave. One by one the presents got ripped and opened. We waited until the last gift to give her ours.
"Close your eyes Sky."
"Okay!" She said and did as she was told.
I waited until Taylor brought it completely out.
"Open your eyes!" I told her.
She looked at it and started screaming. She was jumping up and down. Her reaction was better than what we were expecting.
"A BIKE!!! ITS A BIKE!!! MOMMM ITS A BIKE!!!!" She yelled.
She run up to us and hugged us as tight as her small arms could squeeze. She quickly jumped on top of it and looked so happy. She was like my little sister and I could spoil her as much as I wanted. And this was the perfect way to do it.
