*Two days later*
~Acacia's POV~
Today was the day we get to take the babies home for the first time. And for the first time we weren't going home empty handed. Mama Grier brought us the two car seats and some clothes to change the babies into. We had woke up early from excitement. The nurse was on her way to bring the babies to us.
"Are you excited?" Taylor asked.
"More than excited."
"I can't wait to be able to babysit them." Mama Grier said.
"There goes my sleep." Hayes said.
"You can always move back home." Skylynn told him.
"Hell no! I like staying with Acacia and Taylor. I don't have a little sister bugging me all the time."
"Ehhh." Skylynn said sticking her tongue out at Hayes.
"Now stop fighting you two!"
There was a soft knock before the doctor and nurse walked in. Each brought a baby in their arms. Taylor and I both took a baby and started changing them. Mama Grier went into the hall to talk to them. Hayes and Skylynn helping pack everything else up. After changing the babies in their new clothes we softly set them in their car seats. Both sleeping. Hayes took Noelle and Taylor took Shawn. I grabbed ahold of Skylynn's hand and grabbed some of our things. Mama Grier taking the rest.
As we walked out of the hospital I had a happy feeling. I actually could take the babies home. Then I realized we never changed Aaron's room into the twins. Because of all the fighting and not speaking we never had the time to redo any of it. I was pushed out in a wheelchair and watched as Hayes and Taylor set the twins in the proper car seat. When they finished I got in the passenger seat and Hayes in the back. Taylor hopping in the front seat and smiling. As he started driving I noticed he was driving pretty slow.
"Taylor. Can you go a bit faster?"
"Babe. I'm not going to go any faster and risk these two beautiful heartbeats over something so dumb and stupid."
"Okay old grandma." I told him giggling.
Taylor smirked and then grabbed my hand and held it. I could tell he liked the feeling of us being together and being a new father. He slowly sped up but took his time making sure to be very careful. I sat there with Taylor's hand in mine and thought about what we were going to do and how we were going to handle it. Through twist and turns the drive from the hospital felt like we've been driving for days on end.
As Taylor slowly pulled down our street I saw a car in the driveway. An unfamiliar car. Taylor acted as nothing was there. He parked the car and got out. Opening the door for me and then taking one of the babies as Hayes took the other. I grabbed the bags and walked behind the boys. It felt soooo good to be home. I set the bags on the floor and shut the front door.
"I have a suprise for you." Hayes said as he put the car seat on the ground.
I took Hayes by the arm and listened to his instructions. Closed my eyes and got anxious as we started walking down the hallway. We stopped abruptly as Hayes let go of my arm I freaked out a bit. Anything could be in front of me.
"OPEN!" Hayes yelled.
I opened my eyes to see myself in front of Aaron's room. The door now saying Aaron, Noelle, and Shawn's room. I smiled a bit and watched Hayes slowly open the door. The suprise in front of me. Like I said anything could be in front of me. Or anyone. There he was standing there in the kids' room staring back at me. Nash.
"Hey." Was all he said.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I called him." Taylor said from behind me.
"When?"
"He asked if I could help Hayes put the babies room together. So I came and helped. We painted the walls. Added an extra crib. Fixed the closet. Organized the clothes. Put the rocking chair in and added a carpet and a dresser."
"Thank you. Thank you so much. Its amazing. So calm and stress free." I told him.
I felt Taylor nudge me from behind. I turned and saw his face. I walked up to Nash and hugged him for his help. The hug was so embracing and warm. This is what felt right. This is what I wanted to feel everyday. This felt perfect.
