Chapter 15: Just Hanging Out?

~Nash's POV~

I got up and walked up to my room. I decided to text my friend Carli. She said she'd love to hangout. So I told her I'd pick her up. I took a shower and was now standing in front of my closet with only a towel on. I needed to find an outfit. After looking for a while I settled on a grey tank top that said 'OBEY' in red. Then grabbed a pair of black shorts. I found grey vans and then changed into my outfit.

I did my hair making sure it looked good. I've always had a crush on Carli but never told her to her face. I loved hanging out with her and there was never a dry moment when I was with her. I finished everything I needed to do and got in the car. I backed out the car and turned down the street. 

A few minutes went by and I was at Carli's house. I honked the horn and out she came. She was wearing a pair of white shorts, a black shirt, and black toms. Her blonde hair sat on her shoulders perfectly straight. She smiled at me as she walked down her lawn. She looked so beautiful from her head to her toe. I couldn't help but smile when she got in the car and hugged me. She smelt fruity. I waited until she put on her seatbelt before leaving.

"How's your day going?" I asked trying to sound normal.

"Better. Now that we're hanging out." She said.

"Well. I have a great date planned fror the two of us."

"Date? I thought we were just hanging out."

"I said day. Not date." I stumbled to say trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Nash don't hide it. You definitely said date. It's okay. I don't mind going on a date with you." Carli said through giggles.

I gripped the steering wheel tighter and turned the music up a bit. 'She Looks So Perfect' by Five Seconds of Summer played through the speakers. I saw her rocking to the beat. The light captured her presence so perfectly. I took a left and turned into the parking lot. I found a spot and placed the car in park.

"Where are we?"

"Paintball arena."

"Nash! I don't know how to use a paintball gun."

"It's okay. I'll teach you." I told her as i got out of the car.

I waited for her to get out. She shut the door and I took her by the hand to the entrance. I paid for the two of us and we followed the instructor. There was another couple waiting. We changed into the white outfits and then listened. We were playing with the other couple. I kept my arm around Carli's shoulder and lightly held her hand.

"Alright. You guys ready to have some fun?" The instructor asked.

"Yes." All four of us said in sync.

The instructor led us down a hall and opened a door. The view was nothing but obstacles in the way. He pushed us in and then I heard the door lock. All of us looked at each other and just stood there. Then a random noise started to sound.

"At the beep you're 30 minute gave will start. If you leave your mark any earlier than the beep you get time taken away. Have fun and be safe." The announcement died down.

BBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!!

I ran off the platform and went to go hide. I saw Carli trying to quickly hide. I aimed the gun and FIRE! It hit her in the back. She looked around but I quickly turned back to my base. I waited for a minute of two and ran to somewhere else. On my way I got hit in the stomach by the other guy. I hit him above his penis. We kept shooting until we were both safe.

I looked down and saw purple, orange, blue, and yellow spots covering my front. I peeked out and hit whoever was running. I ran away and slid to safety. Trying to catch my breath I felt something hit my left arm. I turned to see Carli laughing and shooting some more.

I jumped up making her run away laughing. I tried chasing her but her trail stopped. I was in open air. I was getting hit from three different directions. I ran as the paint balls kept hitting me. I tripped over my shoe lace. I dropped my gun on the floor and looked around. I tied my shoes really quick and then fled my spot.

I ran towards the big hay wall. I'll be safe there. I said to myself. I ran bumping into someone. I fell backward and looked the person dead in the eyes. Carli sat on top of me. She smiled and pointed her gun in my breast line.(Don't say anything about it. I had health class and it's called a breast line. DO NOT ARGUE!) She got more comfy without moving an eye.

"You better be scared Grier!" She said.

"I'm not scared of you."

"Oh. You're not." She said as she pulled the trigger. "Am I scary now?"

"It hurt but you have nothing on me. Miss. Carli." I said as I took her spot.

This time she was on the ground and I was on top. I flashed her a smile before she started tickling me. I pulled her arms away and leaned in. I kissed her lips before she could say anything. I let her hands go and she wrapped them around my neck. We were making out before we were nothing getting hit by the other couple. I pulled away and got up grabbing a gun. I shot back trying to help her get past them. But it didn't work.

When the bell rang again we all made our way back to the building. I grabbed Carli's hand as we walked back. She kissed my cheek before going to change. She cane back out a bit after I was done. We walked back to the car and got in.

"Hungry?" I asked.

"Very."

"Any suggestions?"

"Burgers." She said.

"Portillos?"

"Yes!"

I drove us to Portillos. We walked in and ordered our meals and waited in line. Carli faced me as she hugged me. I looked down at her and kissed her lips. She smiled and kissed back.

"74!" The lady yelled.

We pulled way and I grabbed the trays. We found a table and sat across from each other. We dug in right away and didn't talk for a while because we were eating. Even though we were eating greasy burgers and cheese fries with vanilla shakes the moment was perfect. The day was perfect. I dropped my burger and watched her eat.

"Stop staring at me Nash!" Carli said.

"I can't you're just so beautiful."

"Not while I'm eating this."

"Even more. So. Was our date fun?"

"Fun? It was AMAZING!"

"If you liked it we should do it again."

"I'd love too."

I grabbed her hand and looked at her.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Nash, this is so sudden."

"Please. I'd love it if you said yes."

"I-I."

"You'd make me the happiest guy on earth."

She shook her head and looked down at our hands. Then she looked up. She smiled and tightened her grip.

"Yes!"

I couldn't help but smile. I got up and walked around the table. I kissed her greasy lips and smiled. Finishing our food we walked out hand in hand as a couple. That night when I took her home I didn't want to say good night. Finally we said our goodbyes. But ended up texting all night. I have never felt this happy ever since I broke up with Acacia. Maybe Carli is the one I belong with. I just don't want to jinx anything.
