It Gets Better! (Book 3)

Chapter 23: Telling Everyone.

~Acacia's POV~

I sat in the passengers seat of Taylor's car. Hayes and Skylynn in the back and Taylor driving. I held my stomach rubbing it slowly in circles. It was definitely noticeable that I'm pregnant. My tanktop stretched perfectly around the sides. Classic by MKTO was playing and I heard Hayes singing along. The babies started kicking like crazy.

I wanna thrill you like Michael. I wanna kiss you like Prince. Let's get it on like Marvin Gaye. Like Hathaway. Write a song for you like this. I let the lyrics play through my head realising it was keeping me calm about what might happen when we get to Mama Grier's.

I took a deep breath when the house came closer. Time to let everyone know. We all got out of the car and I felt Taylor's hand grip mine. Hayes' arm wrapped around my shoulder and Skylynn walked up like nothing. She knocked on the door and Mama Grier answered. She didn't notice right away since Skylynn was in front of my belly.

We all walked in and sat in the living room. Still between Hayes and Taylor we waited for Mama Grier. She sat down on the other couch and then took a doubpe take and looked at my belly. Her mouth dropped and then she started crying. I felt Taylor squeeze my thigh and Hayes nudge my side. Then a few familiar bodies came in.

Nash. Cameron. Lexi. Aaron. Nash rushed to his mom side hugging her. He looked at us and then back at his mom. The house was silent beside the sobs coming from Mama Grier's direction. Hayes then got up and went to hug his mom.

"What's wrong?" Nash asked.

"Ca-" More tears.

"What?"

"Acacia. Taylor. Baby." She said through deep breaths.

"What does that mean?" He asked Hayes.

"Acacia. Taylor." He said lookinh at me.

"You tell them." I whispered to Taylor.

"Acacia and I are having twins."

"Twins?!" Mama Grier said excitedly.

"Congratulations." Lexi said avoiding eye contact.

"Congrats." Cameron said.

"Thank you." I said.

I nodded my head and smiled. She pushed through the two boys and walked over to me. She hugged us and told us congratulations. She placed her hands around my belly smiling.

"I can't believe this. You guys are having babies."

I smiled and looked around the room. Lexi was holding Aaron and Cameron was walking over to me. Taylor stood there smiling knowing I didn't need the stress of his and Cameron's drama. I looked around and saw Nash. He got up off the couch, gave me a glare, and walked up the stairs stomping and slamming a door. Childish. I thought.

Cameron placed a hand on my belly and smiled as one of the babies kicked his hand. He looked at Taylor and stood up. Walked over to him and nodded his head to the kitchen. They walked out and Lexi looked at me.

"Wanna feel?" I asked her.

"Could I?"

"Mhm." (Just thought of Brent.)

She walked over and placed a hand over my shirt. Aaron copying her. I giggled a bit and saw my belly jumping. They were so active today.

"What are you having?" Mama Grier asked.

"Boy and girl."

"Names?" Lexi asked.

"Noelle and Shawn."

"How pretty."

"Thanks. Do you mind if I go to the bathroom real quick?"

"Oh yah!" They both said.

I waited until they weren't looking to rush up the stairs. I was tired half way up. Walking as quiet as I could I walked to Nash's room. I opened the door slightly. All I heard was mumbling. I popped my head in and it fell silent. Like he knew I was waiting to come in. I walked in and shut the door behind me. Nash looking at me.

"Can we talk?"

"Why?! So you can throw shit in my face?!"

"Nash. No. Just listen to me."

"I'm done listening to you! You've hurt me so much. Do you know the pain I feel?!" He said his voice cracking with every word.

"Nash. I never meant to hurt you."

"Never? But you did."

"I'm sorry."

"Look. I've been through so much shit because of you. I loved you. And I've told you this before but you never lis-"

I cut him off by kissing him hard on the lips. When I pulled away his eyes were still closed. I looked down at my hands. I couldn't help it. But I regretted doing it. Knowing Taylor could walk in any minute. Nash lifted my head to where he was looking me in the eyes.

"What was that for?" He asked.

"I. I. My feelings never left either. But I'm happy with Taylor. He's the father of my children." I said sitting down on his bed.

"We can make this work. We. We can work. Taylor doesn't have to know."

"I can't do that to him."

"Do you love me?" He asked coming down to my level.

"I don't know."

"Acacia. I need an answer!"

"Yes."

"Then we're going to work this out between me and you." He said grabbing a hold of my hand.

He kissed me again and then pulled away when someone turned the knob. Jumping to his feet I sat there still. Taylor walked in and looked at us. He walked over to me and held his hand out. I took it amd we walked out. Looking back at Nash I saw him mouthing words but I couldn't make it out.

"What was going on?"

"I went to see if he was okay. That's it. I promise you."

"Okay. So are we going to tell them the rest of the news?"

"Yeah."

We walked in the kitchen and saw everyone else in there. I smiled and looked around.

"We have some more exciting news."

"More? What is it?" Cameron asked.

"We want Cameron and Lexi to be the god parents to the twins."

"What?! Really?!" They asked.

"Yeah. We had some differences but we talked about it and saw how much you guys are amazing at taking care of Aaron. So will you guys?"

"Of course!" They said.

I was so glad they excepted knowing it was a long shot. But I couldn't be as excited as I thought I should. Nash was popping up in my head and the kiss. What did he mean by we can work? I mean there is a meaning behind it right?
