Snowflakes fluttered around their heads, leaving frost on their nose and eyelashes.

It was cold and Dean would love to be in front of a fire but the heat radiating from Cas was enough.

He stared at the blue eyes that seemed to be brighter against the white and grey background.

Cas tilted his head up and stuck his tongue out, trying to catch snowflakes and Dean smiled.

He rarely ever got to see Cas like this; He was happy and childish. He had seen the Cas that could kill in an instant way too many times for his liking.

The same hands that had beaten Dean at one point, the same hands that held his in purgatory were wrapped in gloves that Dean insisted he wore.

Dean shivered as he stuck his own hands into his pockets. The same hands that have inflicted pain on the people he loved.

Dean observed with a smile as Cas laughed when a snowflake landed on his tongue.

He watched a smile form on Cas' lips, unaware of how desperately he wanted to kiss them.

They've shared a kiss before, while decorating, but they didn't speak about it again. It was as if it never happened.

Dean was slightly convinced that maybe it didn't.

How easy it would be to lean in and connect his lips to Cas'. Dean wanted nothing more than that.

It's Christmas, you're suppose to confess your love right?

Cas turned his head down and grabbed Dean's handing leading him further down the sidewalk.

They stopped at a crosswalk and Dean admired Cas. The cold nipped at his nose turning it red, his hair moving alongside the cold wind, his eyes stood out.

"Awh fuck it" Dean mumbled before grabbing Cas by the lapels of his jacket and pulling him into a kiss.

This one was a bit rougher than the last but continued to be kind and soft.

Butterflies flooded Dean's stomach as he felt like a teenager. Cas' lips were impossibly soft, his hands gentle.

They pulled apart, Dean still gripping onto Cas' jacket. They may have had a rough ride but they made it, because this was the same Cas that pulled him out of hell, the same Cas that would rebel against heaven for a single man, the same Cas who when it came down to it, would sacrifice his life for the ones he loves.

But most importantly, this was the same Cas that Dean had fell for.

What even is this.
