"You were amazing!" Patrick's arms circled around Pete's neck. It felt good being able to show affection in public.
Of course people were still staring and whispering when they walked hand in hand through the halls. There weren't too many out homosexuals in the school. And even the ones who were out, weren't in exclusive relationships. The whispers weren't all disgusting and homophobic. Most of them were honest to God shocked. Who would have guessed that one of the most popular guys in school was gay? And who would have guessed that he would be dating Patrick Stump? One of the least popular guys in school. It was the most cliche outcome to exist. It was stare worthy.
"I played for ten minutes, Patrick." But he still allowed himself to be wrapped into the hug. Despite the fact that he didn't shower after the game and he probably smelled of sweat and locker room. His cheek rubbed against the softness of Patrick's cardigan.
"But they were the best ten minutes of the entire game." If he was bothered by Pete's smell, he didn't show it. In fact, he hugged him even closer.
Pete sighed in content. This was it. His first real relationship. Sarah didn't count. He was just pretending with Sarah. It's fucked up but it's true. Meagan sure as hell didn't count. He didn't even know how to describe what he shared with the head cheerleader. He just knew it wasn't close to what he shared with Patrick.
It was like he was able to be himself for the first time in his life. No pretending. No intentional misconceptions. No holding back. He was free to let himself open up to Patrick without hiding it from anyone else either. At least not at school.
"I was amazing out there, wasn't I?"
"The best." He agreed.
Pete finally pulled away from the hug. Patrick's pout at the loss of contact made him chuckle. He learned over the last couple of weeks how clingy Patrick could be. Not in a bad way. More in a I've finally got what I want and I want to make sure it doesn't disappear way. He felt the same.
Without thinking, he placed his hands on Patrick's stomach. Cradling it almost. "You hear that, little guy? Daddy's gonna be an All American or something."
"Pete." His eyes scanned the halls around them. Making sure no one was close enough to hear the exchange. When he convinced himself that no one was paying attention to them, he smiled. Allowing himself to relish in the delusional idea that they were going to be a happy family. "Do you know what Dr. Jackson told me?"
"What?" He didn't look up from the budge of his stomach.
"That babies in the womb don't developed the ability to hear until 18 weeks."
"So?" Their eyes connected then.
"So I'm only 16 weeks." He swatted his hands away as more students began filling the hall. He guessed they were done wasting time with their friends and ready to head home now. "It can't hear anything you're saying."
"That's stupid. That's for normal babies."
"And our baby isn't normal?" Our baby. It was still so new to say. It still made his stomach flutter.
"No. He's super fucking smart. An unborn baby genius." Genuine excitement laced the whisper. Because, yes, Pete was smart enough not to yell that out loud. "He can hear me now. Can't you, little guy?"
Instead of holding his front, Pete's hands snaked around the side. Tapping his fingers against he softness of his hips. The small action skyrocketed heat up his spine. He leaned into Pete's touch. An involuntary shiver racked through him. Pete noticed. Playful eyes turned questioningly concerned.
"I-It moved." Patrick lied. Not understanding.
"The baby?" His fingers pressed deeper.
Patrick wanted to moan. Why was that hot? That shouldn't be hot. Nothing should be hot about having Pete touch his hips. It didn't make sense. Rational thinking didn't make him any less turned on though.
"Yeah." It was practically a squeak.
Pete leaned over to murmur words directly into his ear. "I told you he could hear."
He was so close because he didn't want anyone to overhear them. Patrick knew that. Of course he knew that. But when Pete spoke, his lips brushed against Patrick skin. And that was that.
Patrick's head snapped to the side. His lips connected with Pete's. Hard. Unromantic. But for some reason still sexy. The taller man gasped into his mouth. Humming his approval to avoid breaking the kiss.
"What was that for?" It was the first thing out of his mouth when they finally came up for air.
"I-" How so you tell someone that you want them to screw you until you die without sounding insane? "Let's go."
"To your place."
"No."He shook his head. "My parents are home."
His laugh was lower. It went straight to Patrick's gut. "So?"
What was he not getting here? "Are your parents home?"
"No. My dad is visiting my grandmother and my mom had to leave the state for some stupid f-"
"I've never been to your house."
"Why are you talking so fast?" He grabbed his wrists. "What's wrong?"
"Pete." He grounded out slowly. "I'm more turned on now than I've ever been in my entire life."
"What?" He snorted. Searching his face to see if he was being serious. When Patrick's unwavering gaze met his, he frowned. "H-How? Why?"
"I don't know."
That only confused Pete more. "Patrick I don't-"
"Me either." He shrugged. "But I'm eighty percent sure that I'll die if you don't touch me."
"I-Is this the hormone shit people talk about?"
"Hmm?" Patrick flipped Pete's bang behind his ear. Too focused on touching him to listen to what he was asking.
"Patrick?"
"Hmm." His hand trailed down the side of his face. Using his thumb, he traced Pete's bottom lip.
"We're in the school hallway." Like Patrick didn't know that. "People could be looking at us right now."
Patrick let go of him. His hands swayed lamely at his side. "Then take me home."

My favorite person in the world, Cali, informed me that pregnant people get super horny because of hormones. This is her doing. And if smut comes from it, thank her!
