Chapter 5 - Not everyone is who they seem

The man entered the door to the bedroom where Jaay is also at. Jaay which is at the bottom of the bed is desperately trying to maintain his calmness, silence, and fright. 20 seconds went by and the strange man is still inside the bedroom, not leaving to see anywhere else. With one big motion, the strange man pulls Jaay out of the bottom of the bed with such swiftness, Jaay didn't have time to react until he was right there staring at the strange man. 

He kept screaming and yelling for someone to help but he thought to himself, 

'There is no one here or anyone who can hear me, is this the end of me' as he is being choked by the man. 

The strange man holding Jaay revealed a knife in his left hand, with gracefulness, he swung the knife at Jaay but was stopped by Jack. Jack rushes into the bedroom as he sees Jaay.

'Hey! What are you doing to my friend?!' shouted by Jack at the strange man as he collects momentum and with one strong step, he pushes the guy to the wall.

The man didn't say anything, nor did it do anything. The strange man stood up and points the knife at Jack, attempting to stab him. Luckily, Jack trained martial arts from his High School so he knows how to handle the situation. The man charged in with the knife while Jack dodged him, pushing him more to add the force on the man, making him lose balance and crash to the wall. The man loses consciousness and passed out.

Minutes have passed and the man woke up, tied to a chair with strong duct tape. They questioned him, 

'What were you doing? Why do you have intent on killing us?'. The man replied, 

'I don't know what you are talking about, one moment I was eating and the other, I'm right here.' 

'Do you think he is telling the truth?' Jack asks Jaay. 

'His eyes were black earlier, it's back to normal now' Jaay told Jack. 

'Do you think he was, you know, possessed?' Jack asks Jaay once more. 

'Hmm, there is a possibility' says Jaay. The man is confused about what is going on. 

'Perhaps it is the time we read the book'. Jaay, while the man is still sitting in the chair and Jack beside him, reads the book. 

'To whoever is reading this, one of your friends has been kidnapped, no, this is not the book the bleeding man told you about, I secretly replaced the book with this one to warn you, so you will not have the same path as me and my friends.' 

Jack, while listening, is frightened about it, 'What is the writer of this book talking about?' asked my Jack.

'Your kidnapped friend may still be alive, the man you found bleeding who told you to grab this book kidnapped her, the person knows your personality and he might've taken advantage of their kindness.' Jaay read to them. 

'What?! Did she get kidnapped? I knew he wasn't trustworthy. Does it say where they are?' Jack asks Jaay. 

'They are currently being held inside of an abandoned building with blood dripping over it.' Jaay says while also being scared of his friend.

'The building we pass through while looking for our school?' frightened Jack asks. 

'I remember being there while eating, someone hit me and I passed out.' the strange man tells them. 'What does it say next?' Jack asks Jaay. 

'You may have to quick this part faster, a guy might be on their way to kill you, you have to be careful!' says Jaay, 

'Well that's reassuring, is this all good guesses or is it planned all along?' Jaay asks. 

' I don't know either, but you strange man, you have to answer some questions before we let you free.' Jack says. 

'What else do you remember? What did you see? What made you do it? Jaay asks while removing the tape from the chair while still having him tied up. They crossed another bridge that Jack found.

'I remember seeing a gray room with a chair at the center, a voice in my head was telling me what to do or what not to do. I couldn't resist it, it's like being controlled out of your own will. I'm Jesse by the way.' the man says while they make their way to the car. 

They removed the tape from the Jesse and tries to quickly find the building. 'Do you think Jesse was possessed by the evil spirit Dave was talking about back then?' Jack asks Jaay, Jaay responded, 'There is a possibility'.

'There! There it is! The building!' Jaay shouted. 

'Park this somewhere far so they won't see it.' Jack told Jaay. So he did and they went outside the car, being stealthy while going inside. They try to find where Nicole is, Jesse said that she might be on the bottom floor, where he saw the chair so they went there. 

'How are we gonna know if she's here? We can't shout her name, can we? Jaay whispers to Jack. 'Her scream is loud, we can be able to hear her, even if she is tied up' Jack tells Jaay.

'Hey, can you hear that?' Jesse asks them, 

'Yeah, it's the sound of... screaming!' they ran to the direction of the scream and they kicked the door in unison and entered the room. 

'Nicole! You're here!' Jaay says while going to the chair to untie her while Jack fights off the man guarding her.

'What were they doing to you?' Jaay asks Nicole. Nicole then looked at Jaay with those deep black eyes, much like what he saw from they saw from Jesse's eyes while being possessed.

'Umm... Jack? Do you think Nicole is possessed? Her eyes are black' Jaay questions, Jack. 'No I'm not sure about that, look.' Jack tells Jaay. They looked at the guard and watches it deteriorates.

'I remember this happening, some rooms in this place are mirages, illusions.' Jesse tells them.

 'Darn, maybe they knew that we were here, or this may be a trap' Jack says. 'How do they do it? It seems real' Jaay asks while looking at Nicole deteriorating. 

'I don't know either, but somehow, they can manage to do it.' Jack answers. 'Where can she be?' is the line circling around there minds.

 They tried every room, busted every door in the building trying to look for her when Jack screams her name, there was a loud response but the 2 also looks at him thinking 'What is this guy thinking?'. They follow the sound coming from underneath to see if they can find her.'

They went downstairs and there she was, her hands have blood dripping because of cuts. 

'Guys! Is that you? No, I'm not an illusion like those other rooms. But be careful! There's a guard somewhere patroling the area.' Nicole says. 

'We will untie you, we will have to do a lot of explaining about what is happening right now' Jack says. 'Who's that guy you brought with?' Nicole asks while Jaay unties her. 

'He was possessed and tried to kill us, but it's okay. The guards knew of there presence and knew that it was time to go. They escaped the building and went to their car to get out of that place.
