Chapter 11 - Should you trust the evil?

They all got back to the parking lot and went outside to go inside of their building. 'I wonder where David and Lucas are at right now' Nicole asks curiously, 

'Perhaps no one knows, they could be anywhere' Jesse says. 

'Keep in mind that the only way we can help them is to stop Joy from her doings' Jaay says while they enter the elevator. 

'Do you guys hear that?' Jack asks, 

'Hear what?' Jaay follows the question, 

'You mean the whispers? I can hear them' Nicole says. 

'I can't hear any voices, what are you guys talking about?' Jesse asks. 

'Maybe it can only be heard by us 3, who summoned her' Nicole suggests.

'I know you may think I am evil but I have to do this to you' the whisper said while the elevator stopped at floor 13. 

'Who is this? Or what are you?' Jack shouted. 

'You don't have to know who I am, what is important is for you to know the truth' the voice answers, 

'And what makes you think we should believe you?' Nicole asks in a demanding voice. 

'Because I know the truth behind the lie' the whisper suggests, 

'What lie?' Nicole asks. 

'You see, I am not here to do you any harm, nor give you any terror, I am here to help you' the whisper answers.

'What are you talking about? Are you Joy?' Jack asks, 

'As I said, you don't have to know who I am, you are in great danger right now and no one can help you' the whisper stated. 

'If you are Joy, then you are the only great danger that is happening right now' Jack says. 

'Guys my head hurts' Jesse says as he loses consciousness. 

'Jesse! What did you do to our friend?' Jack asks. 

'He is in a deep dream where he can see the truth behind the lie, the light behind the dark' the whisper answers. 

'Now, the 2 imbeciles were lying to you, they only wanted me gone is because they were the evil ones, not me' the whisper says.

'Then why do you want us? Why did you get us in an ac..' Nicole asks but was interrupted by Jack, 

Jack stared at her waiting for her to catch up with the ordeal that if that is Joy, she shouldn't know. Luckily, she catches up. 

'Why did you get Lucas and Dave away from us?' she continues trying to make it seem like nothing is wrong. 

'They are the 2 people who are lying to you since the beginning, I need you, Nicole, to get me out of my seal' the whisper says. 

'So you are Joy' Jaay stated. 

'No, Joy is not my name, in fact, I have no names, I am the shadow of your glow, the darkness behind your light and the alternate behind your fact.' the whisper says.

'Why would I even get you out of your seal? All you want is torment and tragedies, with that seal, you are more controllable, you can't do much, can you?' Nicole asks promptly. 

'Without the seal, I can save every life in danger, I can protect those in need and stop the evil from causing pain to others' the whisper answers. 

'That is not really a convincing statement' Jaay says. 

'We don't need you, we are gonna find a way to stop you if that's all I care for, you need to stop.' Jack says in an exaggerated manner, almost shouting. 

'Fine, I will give you time to decide who you should trust, me or the 2 liars. Until then, Jesse will be knocked out, wandering in a dream of solitude. I will come back for you within 2 days, farewell for now' the whisper says while fading away.

They all woke up except for Jesse at floor 14 inside the elevator with officers scanning the area. 'What happened here?' a cop asks, 

'The elevator stopped and the hot temperature caused us to pass out, our friend here is extremely allergic to that stuff and it's probably why he is still passed out' Jack says in a lie to stop them from knowing what is going on. 

'Do you need an ambulance?' the cop asks, 

'Thanks for the concern, but we don't need it' Jaay answers. 

'If you can just step out of the elevator it will be nice, we need to try to find the problem with this elevator.' the cop says, and they did, they went to their room using the stairs.

'Was that all a dream?' Jaay asks, 

'No it was somehow connected, maybe Joy caused us to faint and talked to us in our dreams' Nicole tries to answer it with the clues at hand. 

'What are we going to do about Jesse?' Jaay asks, 

'We can try waking him up but I don't think that's gonna do much' Jack answers. 

'So, what do we do? Who should we trust?' Nicole asks, 

'I don't want to believe in that whisper's statement, how can it even save people when all it does is stalk us and tries to be free using brute force and harmful ways?' Jack answers with a question in the end. 

'I won't trust that whisper either, it is way too sketchy to believe' Jaay states his opinion. 

'What if the whisper was saying the truth? Maybe it was trying to help us all along?' Nicole states her opinion as well.

'No Nicole, we can't trust it after everything that it has done to us, considering Jesse is in a dream set by it, who knows what Jesse is experiencing right now?' Jaay says. 

'Jaay is right, we can't trust it' Jack supports Jaay but Nicole isn't convinced. 

'We should just go to bed and get a good night's rest. We will talk about this all tomorrow morning after we are no longer tired and stressed, I'll put Jesse in his bed' Jaay says and they all went their separate ways to go to bed and sleep.
