Chapter 10 - The price of knowledge

'Is that so? Then we better be careful in taking our future steps' Jaay tells Nicole and Jack. 

'Now that you know your past, you are in far greater danger now' Lucas says, 

'What do you mean?' Nicole asks, 

'Didn't Dave tell you about the cost of knowing it all?' Lucas asks, 

'No, what is the cost?' Jaay asks. 

'If Joy finds out that you guys know about your past then she will try to get you into an accident once more' Lucas states, 

'Well that's if she finds out, how does she find out anyway?' Jesse asks. 

'Oh dear, whenever she takes hold of your body, she gets information in your brain, you better not be possessed' Lucas says.

'We never knew that, is she going to try to give us amnesia once more?' Jaay asks, 

'That is a yes since she doesn't want you to know that you are the only ones who can stop her, and if you don't, she can take over the world' Lucas states, 

'Take over the world? What?!' Jaay asks intensively. 

'You summoned a powerful demon, she has the power to control everything she sees, do whatever she wants, but the cage is keeping that power sealed' Lucas answers. 

'So we're fine, right?' Nicole asks, 

'Not for long, the cage has a limit of 35 years, and this is the 34th year since it was unleashed' Lucas answers. 

'We have one more year to stop her, but how?' Jack asks.

'There is only one way and only one shot at doing this. Her source of power is the Ouija Board that you guys used. Wherever it is, it must not be destroyed or else we can never stop her' Lucas says, 

'Oh no, do you guys know where it is now? It's been 34 years and we had amnesia' Jaay asks. 

'It will be impossible to find it now, who knows where it has been?' Nicole answers with another question. 

'We can't afford to get possessed either, this is going to be hard' Jaay stated. Jesse heard a noise outside and looked out using the window. 

'Guys? Is it just me or there is a black gust getting near to us?' Jesse asks.

'She is here' Lucas says.

'What do we have to do with the board?' Jack asks quickly. 

'You have to do a reverse summoning ritual on it' Lucas says. 

'How do we do that exactly?' Jaay asks while they pack their things to leave. 

'You have to grab the board, have one of you guys get possessed by her, you have to put a few droplets of blood on the board at each corner, the possessed person has to stand above the board and gets killed by a knife with the person's own blood.' Lucas answers. 

They went all went inside of the vehicle and tries to lose Joy, 

'So does that mean that one of us is going to die?' Nicole asks, 

'That will be a yes, perhaps the hardest decision of your life' Lucas answers. 

'Is there no other way?' Jack asks while driving. 

'There is another way, but it's going to be a long process.' Lucas answers.

'Woah! What's this black thing?' Jesse asks, 

'It is Joy's shadow, she can manipulate it, she is trying to grab us but her power is too weak' Lucas answers. 

'Please tell us the way to stop her' Nicole pleaded. 

'You have to grab the same old Ouija Board you used to summon her and you have to summon another one to fight Joy' Lucas answers. 

'Isn't that dangerous? Won't it be another mistake to do it? Jaay asks. 

'No, you have to get someone possessed by Joy at any place and at any time, you have to grab some of the person's blood that Joy possessed. Whenever Joy possesses someone, she has some of her blood and flesh inside of your body, you have to take it, to know, it's color black, deep black.' Lucas answers.

'Jack turn left!' Jesse shouted. With one quick reaction, Jack gracefully turned left and the shadow grabbing the car snapped off. 

'Good reaction time' Nicole states. 

'Please continue' Jaay stated. 

'Once you have the droplet of blood, you have to pour it on top of the Planchette of the board and with it, you have to find a spirit strong enough to fight her. To know if the spirit is good enough, the blood will turn white.' Lucas continues. 

'We either pick the choice of someone having to die but a quick one or a long one, with a lot of risks but no one dies.' Jack states as his point of understanding.

'It really is a hard choice to do but whoever...' Lucas couldn't finish his sentence. 

'Lucas! Hold on!' Jaay shouted as the shadow of Joy is trying to grab and pull Lucas away. Soon, Nicole and Jesse try to help too but the force was too strong, Lucas was pulled away. 

'I am sorry! We will try to save you after we finish her off!' Jack shouted. 

'You can still save me and Dave! You just have to...' once again, Lucas wasn't able to finish saying what he wanted to say.

'Drive fast, we have to go back to our place and decide on what to do next' Jaay tells Jack, 

'I know!' Jack shouted because of stress and trauma. 

'I am sorry for shouting, I'm just sick of losing someone who can help us even more and is worth being an ally' Jack answers. 

'It's okay, we know how you feel, we feel it too. It is a hard sensation to go through' Nicole answers Jack's apology. 

'We didn't even have the chance to know how to save them, and plus, both of the choices given to us includes finding the Ouija Board.' Jaay says.

'Jack, don't be shocked but I sense danger coming from our vehicle's direction' Nicole tells Jack,

'What do you mean?' Jack asks. 

'I have a feeling that there is a trap waiting for us there' Nicole answers. 

'That is a possibility and we have to not be possessed because as Lucas says, once we get possessed, Joy will know that we have rediscovered our past.' Jesse says. They make a sharp right and used another route to go back to their apartment.

The next chapter will probably be out in about 2 days. I will let you guys choose what decision they should make. Comment 'A' if you want them to choose the choice where someone will die and comment who you want to die. (Example: A Nicole) Comment 'B' if you want them to find a spirit to help them but has a lot of risks, including the fact that someone or two can be killed. Choose wisely!
